i believe that individuals can do as they please so long as they dont harm others. i also think big buisness inherantly serves its own needs and that individual citizens with much less power than corporations need a measure of protection from being exploited by buisness. am i the only person in the uk who thinks this way in a world of free market economics and paranoia of individuals with radical ideas?

Should we set up an arena fighting system, take them in off the streets and have them compete in some sort of cage for food, cash, or booze. If so, should there be weapons involved or just hand-to-hand?

OR Should we consider them as an alternate food source (ie soylent green) perhaps shipping this food off to famine stricken countries such as Etheopia and India

Will there be revolution?

It's pretty clear they are due for some losses. If they don't have those losses, does that mean the voting system has been compromised?

If the democracy is compromised, what do we do next?

The other day I heard some talking heads on the radio mentioning that the civil situation in Russia was becoming like the situation before the Bolsheviks ousted the Czar, but with the rich class being the mafia and their "friends" and the opressed masses, well, the opressed citizens of nowadays Russia, who again have to live a life weaving between what the government tries to extract from them and what the "Rich" (mafia) leave them to get on with.

Is there any undercurrent forming in Russia? If there were, what would the rest of the world do and whose side would it take, if the people revolted and siezed the government? Or the upaid army?

Suppose that instead of income taxes the government taxed us on things society generally considers vices and frivolities? So, instead of collecting taxes from everyones income we put a tax on things like alcohol, cigarettes and porn? It wouldnt even have to be a very large tax, a 1 cent tax on every soda sold in the United States would bring in billions of dollars of revenue.
Also, we could tax things like yachts. Unless its your livelihood, like if you are a fisherman for a living, we put a tax on yachts. Or unless you have so many children, there will be a tax on mansions. I mean, unless you can prove you need that frivolity, you must pay a tax on it. A tax on any car that gets less than 30mpg. A tax on any jewelry that costs more than a hundred grand. That kind of thing. What do you think?

My brother is in bootcamp right now, about 2 weeks in.... anyway, I am doing all of his finances and I was told that he gets paid from the Army on the 15th and 30th of each month. I thought that the check would be automatically deposited, but I was recently told that they receive their check in bootcamp and then they have to money order the money to whom ever they are sending in. Which one is correct?

US has many non-permanent bases throughout the world, leased from the host country by invitation ( excluding Iraq ). Muslims have migrated from the east to every western style democracy in the world, although there might be some muslim immigrants in China, Cuba and North Korea? The Islamic immigrants have permanent, unrestricted, occupation in host countries, the US temporary and limited, occupied bases. Each promotes its own philosophy and excludes integration. So which is the greater silent threat to the host nation?

When all along they want to control everything you do .
What you can do as a woman with your body ,weather or not gays can marry ,who can vote ,who can own a gun ,who will pay what in taxes .What schools can teach and a hole host of others to long to mention here .
What do we give up each time we vote for republicans .
Our very privacy is almost gone and our ability to be listened to .
Most americans want out of Iraq but does bush Listen .He seems to think he can do as he pleases and not listen to the people .He thinks along with a small minority that this war is needed and for what reason nobody knows .
Democracy to elect fundamentalist extremists is what it is going to accomplish .
Republicans need to concentrate on more important issues .
They have only made everything they touch worse .The only people who have benefited are those who recieved a tax break in one hand and in the other been slipped a bill for a trillion dollar debt .
Easy to give you a dollar when you owe back 3.
