Serious answers only, please. Any sarcastic, mean-spirited, jokey responses will get a thumbs down.

The question is - how open-minded are we? Do we just agree with every issue in our party's platform?

Identify yourself with either a political party or philosophy - and give me ONE example of where you differ with your own party & think the other side actually has that ONE issue right.

Or....perhaps an issue on where you're willing to bend & arrive at a compromise for the sake of trying to bring this country together a little bit, rather than continually trying to wedge it apart.

For example, I'm a registered Democrat (although I'm probably further left-of-center than the average Democrat)....however, I do commend Bush's increased funding for the National Science Foundation and his support of NASA. I believe a lot of Democrats don't support NASA as much as Bush did because they see it as a waste of money - I disagree with this.

The Second Amendment is the greatest gift of our forefathers. It is the one freedom that guarantees the others and allow us to defend our lives and our freedoms from those who would choose to oppress us. The rights of the many outweigh the opinions of the few. The Democratic party and their opinons, with support of the U.N. sees fit to deny us that freedom. The U.N. in all it's glory has declared that our right to defend ourselves is a violation of the rights of would-be perpetrators of our own rights. The U.N. takes pride in supporting genocide in African countries that participate in ethnic cleansing by disarming the oppressed and providing for the oppressors. To give up the Second Amendment is to give up all freedoms.

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." -U. S. Constitution, "Amendment II"

isn't it just like fighting hatred? how can you win a war on hatred?
setting an example just creates more hatred. spreading democracy doesn't work in a world that doesn't believe in it based on our own pitiful example.

If you think so watch this guys videos and learn more about whats really happening in this country, if you don't think so then watch and you may change your mind but everyone should e-mail this guy and ask not what you can do for your country but what the country should do for you :P I urge everyone though to join in because anyone who does enough research will learn that infact everything in these interviews and news reports are extreamly accurate and you SHOULD be afraid! Join the cause :)

a party claims it will change the policey of higher income tax, another says it will cut the 'stealth taxes' of the current government. Both say they will fund this with new 'green taxes' hitting the highest poluters.

Claims are also made that a party can have green credentials if it supports these green taxes. However it is necessary for the green taxes to be ineffective in cutting emissions or else no/little revenue will be generated to cover the costs of the policy changes, thus continuing current (high if you are a con) tax rates will be necessary.

What is the purpose of taxing polluters?

1)to raise revenue, to cut other taxes, thus make political advantage
2)to save the planet
3)can both actually be done???!!

Seems like everyone wants to stick the President for every problem that has occured since he was elected. Why does everyone for get that this country is run by democracy--we chose him for our president, and we chose him (the majority of us) twice. Why does everyone want to escape their personal responsibilty to the point where it makes us all (not just the president) look like a bunch of fools. Do we, and our government as a whole, not have any connection in the problems that we face? Is it really all up to one man? I'm not willing to give any one person all that power.
