Why should they do ANYTHING with how the economy is running? The slow growth plan by Bush has been working well. The typical Dem strategy of raising taxes will hinder this. If they do win and choose to push something, hopefully it would be to cut unnecessary spending on programs such as personal and corporate welfare, funding for things like National Endowment for the Arts, etc... but we KNOW that will not be something they want to do

It's hard to manage they can. It's been proven that tax cuts stimulate the economy by giving people more money to spend. At the top of the Dems agenda will be to repel tax cuts and raise taxes. With this said and the added burden put on business the form of regulations and taxes will certainly stifle the economy. The Clinton administration got lucky with the Internet boom, but had no course of action if the bomb would have happened in the term. Most every recession has happened or directly followed a democratic administration.

The Dow has never been higher.. Unemployment is at record lows , SS recipients just got an increase.. anyone with a 401k just made $$.... The Democrats have already stated their position "Many of you are well enough off that ... the tax cuts may have helped you. We're saying that for America to get back on track, we're probably going to cut that short and not give it to you," Hillary Clinton at a fund-raiser for radical Sen. Barbara Boxer.
"We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good," as far as taking away some of the tax breaks (ie; marriage and child care breaks are coming up for reinstatement in 2011) and raising taxes, how is this going to improve our economy?? I guess the answer to your question is NO....

The DOW is at an all time high

Real estate price is down, house sales are up.

Vehicle sales are rising and we have more job positions than we can fill.

Where is the problem right now?

The only thing I see the Democratic party doing is killing great ecomomy we have right now. They will raise taxed just like Clinton did (36% on the middle class and 4.2 cent gas tax) and screw everything up.

Clinton did not end our deficit. He put down numbers on paper depicting the deficit going black. Something any used car saleperson can do.

I seriously doubt it, even looking at the issue from a non-partisan standpoint. Defense spending would certainly go down but other spending programs would likely increase, as the norm with Democrats. I don't think either party has a fiscally lower cost plan... it just shifts which programs the funds go to.

Definitley. It always is the same old thing, the repubs spend money and put us in debt and the Dems come in clean it up and leave us with a surplus, then the repubs are elected back in and the circles is continious.
