Kerry said, "You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."
Liberals are now claiming he was talking about President Bush.
Nowhere did he mention the name of President Bush. His insult was directed just at our nrave troops.
He never did apologize. Republicans need to realize that liberals hate the military. If we allow Congress to be overtaken by the Democrats, we will surely see this war underfunded and our brave troops left without the tools to keep them safe or to win the war.

Kerry's comments were stupid and highly misinformed. The vast majority of Americans servings in Iraq are college educated men and women who joined the reserves, thinking that it meant a weekend a month and 2 weeks a year. They learned differently. I would be willing to guess there are far more college graduates serving in Iraq than those with only high school diplomas, the first time in the history of the military that has happened.
What is worse, Democrats, led by Congressman Moore are going on the attack against solders who were paying child support based on the civilian income, as the time they were called up to active duty. Their income dropped, but with the exception of Missouri and Illinois, they have to keep up their child support payments, even if they exceed their military income.
These men will be coming back to face prosecution and persecution for being behind in their support. I've written Congressman Moore about it two years ago, and he said nothing could be done about it, but now, he is introducing legislation to further erode their rights, just because they obeyed their orders to serve.

My God, it's bad enough to have just seen the comment out of context, and now it has become a neocon pretzel.
Kerry put his foot in his mouth, no argument. So that's one for Kerry, and how many hundred for Bush?
Unlike Bush, Kerry is a combat veteran, so I'm sure his comment, which I have only seen out of context, was not intended to insult troops serving in Iraq. As for an apology, if he feels he insulted the troops, he will apologize, if as I took it he meant that if you are an uninformed voter you will end up with cheerleaders like Bush sending you overseas to die he probably will not. If Bush is insulted, good, he deserves to be in prison, not just insulted.

Naturally, his statement is taken out of context.
He's alluding to the massive campaign by our military recruiters to get any and everyone they can into our severely depleted
armed forces.
Once again, anyone that dares to disagree with George 'Jesus' Bush or dares to disagree with the pointless loss of US and Iraqi life is branded a traitor.
Put down your McRib sandwich and fries, turn off American Idol and take a look around.
The chicken hawks attacking him are truly disgusting.

John Kerry is still stuck in the sixties. He intimates there is still a draft. He is such a blowhard and a liar! He is still proving the Swift Boat Veterans right every time he speaks.
It was John Kerry who spread the lies that Vietnam Vets are mass murders. Unfortunately the people of Massachusetts keep Kerry and Kennedy in the Senate. What a shame! Elitist skanks!

If he truly did say that, he really isn't very bright. I know many people who went into the service before school as a means to pay for their education, those who joined the reserves as a mean to supplement their income, those who joined after graduating compelled to serve their country. Just one example of many I could give you: my boyfriend is finishing up his bachelors and will be applying to law school next year. He's been in the arm, first active duty and then reserves for over 18 years now.

I agree. How can you? Kerry sounds like he spends his time in Yahoo Q&A making many of the posts around here. You libs should be proud. You follow your leader like poisoned lemmings. Cheers to you!
Now you have fresh talking points on how to insult the military and their families, and how to spin out observing his rule of hypocrites.

Thank God He's not our President. He used his miltary service to advance himself, fake and all. He knew that in order to be a prominent politician, or President, his resume would look better with some military background. He also knew that if you got three purple hearts in a war zone, you could apply to go home. So, he faked two of them for sure, and the other is suspect. The brass in Vietnam hardly knew of this rule until he informed them about it, cause no one had ever tried it.
He was a coward then, a coward now, and we are lucky he is not our President.

There is no way to support scum like that. If all our soldiers were like him, they'd sell out their fellow soldiers, stub their toe, use it as a reason to be discharged, and come home early to throw their medals over the border fence into Mexico
