When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. Don't you realize that criminals are defined as those who do not obey the laws, so by outlawing guns you are only disarming the victims. Washington DC has the strictest gun laws in the nation, and the highest rate of violent crime. Every state which has passed concealed carry laws has seen their rate decline.
An armed society is a polite society.

The question is more like when will the neighbors step up to the plate and help the police when they ask "DID ANYBODY SEE ANYTHING??" The police say that is the main problem with ridding the streets of these thugs. They have the neighbors terrorized. And the judges need to give them real hard time.

The people that are killing with guns are getting the weapons illegally..
I'm sure the parents of the children who are taking them to school don't want them to take them to school! Some of those kids got the guns with out their parents knowing they even had them....oh yes illegally!
My gun is across the country in my Dad's attic but if I had it here with me and some one tried to take it from me they would have a fight on their hands!

my country had their gun buy back scheme about 8 years ago.
Now you must prove that you regularly go hunting or to a shooting club to own one, licenses take longer and also you must keep them in a safe enclosure, or something with a deadlock on it bolted to the ground.
Its very rare now that people get shot and I think public safety has improved
