U.S. soiders sign up to do a certain job. Some have to do gun trucks or foot patrols. Even though they did not realize what they truely signed up for. Sould recruters have to tell them this may happen. So they will not be blind sided.

my question, is why did the navy sailors get along better with the army, but they dispised the Marines, and they basically ate and slept on the same bases? this is mainley a World War II question, i may be historically wrong about the question, but this what i heard. *normal questions, i don't give a crap about the whoes better or not debate, i am wishing for an educated answer.

I am a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army. I've been on active duty for 7 months. 4 months on an Air Force base and 3 months on an Army base.

I don't really notice a difference on the treatment of personnel. So why do people say that the Air Force treats their "people" better? What does the Air Force do that the Army doesn't? What foes the Air Force have that the Army doesn't?

I think the marine corps is the weakest branch of the military and it didn't really help out the us military at all in history. It's a junk. What do you think?

I am currently separated and in the process of getting divorced. Because she is in New Jersey I have to be separated for 18 months to file for the type of divorce that we want. We are still friends and we talk, we just can't be married anymore. Its been almost a year that we have been living apart. I give her the required money and we are not mad at each other at all. Problem is, my Chain of command is threatening me with UCMJ because of a friend that I talk to. Can they give me UCMJ? Why would they even care what I do with y personal life? No one is complaining. I have terrible leadership and I think they should be worried about more important things. Anybody have some input???

Does anyone know if you can have hypothyroidism and still join the Army Special Forces? I know Im not disqualified for service because I have been controlled for more than a year. I guess my main concern is that there may be some further medical requirements that are not outlined in AR 40-501. Any input would be great!

journalists maybe somebody should ask them why they haven't set hundreds of forest fires all across the United States. One day America will learn that you have to start to talk to the terrorists.

My spouse is in iraq for his 15 mos. tour, he has knocked out 5 mos. so far. His unit is a retake of basic again w/ mass punishment, plenty of standing at attn. and bagging sand although there's tons of REAL work to do. my ? is what can i do to ease his stress because he's becoming irrational in choices of how to deal w/ what remaining time he has. He's definitely ets-ing, not extending a single day even though switching to a different unit w/ an addtl. skill he has would help (scored 3 on dlpt in arabic, did well on his pt tests and 0 counseling statements), but he'd rather deal w/ this unit than spend an extra day in the army after all this...it has gotten to the point that he'd rather spend the remaining 16 mos. time on a hardship tour than going back and waiting out the remaining time w/ his family + his sucky unit again. He'd like to try his chances w/ having a better unit and in essence "dump" his family (2 kids + a 4 mos. old he hasn't spent much time w/).

I had a diagnostic angiogram on Wed I removed my gauze I had over the incension and feel good not exactly 100% but the only discomfort is in the incension area. Can I go back to working out? I have 2 weeks of convalescent leave from work but being in the Army I don't want to go two weeks without working out I like to keep my body fit for the fight. I am 25 years old btw. The problem is I have a vascular web and a 40% stenosis off my left common carotid but they didn't do the operation they said they were going to do and gave me an angiogram. I am now awaiting the results of the treatment.

War on Terror: It's over. Sure there are lingering issues with Iran and Syria. But the big jihad is over. Osama won't be riding triumphantly through Mecca on a white horse. This clash of civilizations has fizzled. Proof? The surge in Iraq worked. The Iraq invasion was the bait to attract the worst elements of the muslim world to a killing field of our choosing. There we bled them physically and economically. Where are all the noisy demonstrations that used to be a feature of every muslim nation every Friday after prayer? Every muslim crazy who wanted to pick up a gun and fight the West has done so. They are either dead, or a prisoner or on the run or just plain demoralized. Allah gave them no big victories after the sneak attacks of 9/11. Sure, there will always be some nut willing to blow himself up for headlines. But that won't defeat Western Civilization. As for the schemers in the Arab world who dreamed of taking over the West by force, we see them now buying stock in US companies.
