as a former marine i would have to say it's about the same when it comes to who will see the most action.the army rangers are a good special force outfit.i can;t say anything bad about them.they sure kicked *** on the beaches of Normandy during world war two.even the German general in command during that invasion said when looking at the rangers.i can;t believe what good fighters the American soldiers are.the rangers took out the big guns that were destroying our naval ships.no i can;t say anything bad about those guys at all.the training is tough both for the rangers and the force Recon of the USMC.if you can make it through marine boot camp then you can most likely make it in marine force Recon.but out of all the special forces the navy seals are by far the toughest and the hardest to get through.as far as hard core is concerned that;s a hard one to call.because their both hard core for sure.the marine force Recon and the army rangers.

Force recon is exacly like a SEAL, only diffrence is diffrent training places. Other than that they are the same kind of SOF, but SEALs see a lot more action than them because force recon is not used as much, infact their the least used SOF in the military. Well, until they get fully intergrated into SOCOM, after that they might get used as much as everyone else. But Rangers will always see more action than recon, mainly cause their specialty is needed more often than not. As for who is hardcorer, thats just a matter of opinion. Training for both is difficult. The one that is harder to get into is recon though. Marine corps are very know for sticking you were they want you & they dont have a whole lot of option of were you can go when you can choose. Inorder to get into recon you need to be in for a bit before you can tryout out or I think they may ask you or you get recomended. But rangers you can tryout for right after your basic/AIT & airbourne school (if you get it in your contract). Also a plus for the rangers, is you can possibly try out for or get reqruited into delta force or while being a ranger go to SFQC & if you pass be special forces qualified & when you re-up you can go into green berets. In thearmy youjust havemore options & oppurtunity.

Most hard core that would definitely be Air Force ParaJumpers. There all tough but PJ school has the highest drop out rate, and contain all the training of all the other special forces. Its intense. But my hat is off to all are SF soldiers. If you want a "life defining" moment then dude PJs are for you. Unlike all other branches they aren't considered a life taking force. There job is to save pilot and soldiers caught behind enemy lines. They are the best at first aid, and save thousands of lives. Don't get me wrong they are ready to take a life for their country, and are now being deployed in combat units to help with first aid, ndcombat fighting.

My dad says that marine corp is going to be tougher...they both see a lot of action and the marine corp is a little more hard core...wants to know why you would be interested in action and hard core...choosing a branch of the military should be one based on your interest because each branch offers different jobs. Besides this if you are looking for action and stuff he said you may get into trouble...maybe not by yourself but with others who are looking for the wrong kind of action. Study on what you want out of the military and what the military wants out of you. All branches want honorable, dedicated, men and women to do their best even in the face of danger.
Thanks for the details! I bet you will do well in what ever branch you choose! The all offer so much and take so much, I guess I can't really give you the best advice on which is better. Good luck, I know you will choose what is best for you. Please take care of yourself!

As long as you have the " I wont quit" attitude there both easy...try for the SEALS if you want a challenge.....or the marine corps just started there own SOCOM unit...they bled the recon units dry.

Any of the forces you mention are going to require an accelerated mind, a quick reaction time, above average intellect, and willingness to give his life for duty.
You left out the most dynamic and dependable force, and that is the Navy Seals.
And they are the ones called when everyone else fails.
But your lack of ability to even capitalize your beginning letters when composing a sentence leads me to believe you won't qualify for any of them.

It depends on your level of education. Everyone can get it, it takes some brains to become an officer tho, the army will never tell you that.....the training is all the same they just want you to know your basics and they will deploy you, talk to someone who has seen action. The more hard core action is given to those who have higher degrees, B.A's M.A's those who graduate top of their class.
