Military - November 2007

Age 18, received HS Diploma,
Vision in -top half of left eye is complete blindness ;
Vision in -bottom half is 20/400(not correctable by lenses) with no peripheral vision.
-Right eye 20/40 correctable with lenses to 20/10.
I asked my question to an Army recruiter over the phone, who responded that it was for "the doctor to decide."

I know we get paid on the 1st and 15th, but when will the statement be available so I know what we're GOING to get? Right now the LES for the 15th is still up, so my question is when will the LES for the first be available for viewing? Thanks alll

I do, I know lot's of them. Does it bother anyone else that there are so many people who feel so strongly that the Iraq war is justified and could serve their country and assist the war effort by joining the Military... but do not? Is that hypocritical? I try to understand how a person can reconcile their staunch support for the war with their unwillingness to serve, but I can't seem to come to grips with it.

Iranian-made weapons were among a large cache of arms and ammunition found during operations in a Shiite militia stronghold south of Baghdad, the Iraqi Army said Monday.

Major General Jamil Kamel al-Shimari, a senior officer in the 8th Iraqi Army Division, said the cache was the biggest store of weapons found since the launch of Operation Lion Pounce on Saturday.

Iraqi security officials said that 3,000 Iraqi soldiers and policemen supported by military tanks and hundreds of US and Polish troops launched the assault Saturday to flush out Shiite militants from the city.

My friend is on probation for discharging a firearm (he shot it in the air on the fourth of july), and possession of cocaine (cops planted a piece of crack on him, yes this is true), he was placed on probation for 18 months, but I am wondering if he can join the airforce still? What are the rules on joining the airforce on probation and with a criminal record?

I only have 1 child period! and thats my 22yr old son,He recently told me that he took the test to join the air force.He expressed that he was just tired of working dead end jobs and wanted to go to college to better himself and that the air force would pay.Well my major concern is the war thats going on in iraq.What is his chances on being shipped over there??
