There is basic training for officers. That's what I am talking about. OTC or OSC are considered "basic training" for officers.

You will never hear anyone refer to OTS as basic training for officers.

OCS and OTS are both separate from basic training. Basic training is for enlisted soldiers. OCS is training to become an officer. For basic training, from the time you go to the recruiting office, take you ASVAB and go to MEPPs for you physical, it should take less than one month. Basic training is 8 weeks. If you intend to go to OCS, you will need to do all the above and then apply for a secret clearance. This process may take anywhere from 3-6 months. Also remember that the Officer program is more selective than the enlisted route, which means that you may have to interview for the various positions. OCS is about 12 weeks long.

Hmm....for me it took about 6 months because I was a college student in the Delayed Entry Program (DEP), so I swore in November 2nd and shipped off to basic on May 15th. Standard military rule is that the absolute LONGEST that you can go between swearing in and foot hitting the ground to basic is 6 months, but for most people it is quite shorter.

The Army is now giving bonuses to people who ship immediately, so that can influence when you leave. I don't know if the other branches are doing this.

5 months. When I joined they had what was called a Delayed Enlistment Program. I joined in July and had the summer to enjoy being a High School Graduate. Then in December I went to Basics. So, for my first Christmas away from home I was playing Air Force. We did have a fair T.I. and his wife made everyone a Cup Cake for Christmas, then we got to run 5 miles to work it off. LOL!

there is not any particular time, how long to attend. you may take the ASVAB and not come to a decision wether to connect or not. once you eventually have desperate what college you opt to circulate, greater constructive reported what job you will do. i assume they verify and openning for the college(AIT) and a pair of months earlier which you circulate to user-friendly. as quickly as you're sworn in that takes to result. I waited 3 months. those 3 months help me to coach so i did not could suffered plenty and conflict in user-friendly

I was in the DEP program one week shy of a year. If you go over a year they have to start the whole process over (retake ASVAB, physical, etc.).
