Iranian-made weapons were among a large cache of arms and ammunition found during operations in a Shiite militia stronghold south of Baghdad, the Iraqi Army said Monday.

Major General Jamil Kamel al-Shimari, a senior officer in the 8th Iraqi Army Division, said the cache was the biggest store of weapons found since the launch of Operation Lion Pounce on Saturday.

Iraqi security officials said that 3,000 Iraqi soldiers and policemen supported by military tanks and hundreds of US and Polish troops launched the assault Saturday to flush out Shiite militants from the city.

Great information. Thanks. SO far the sanctions have actually slowed these movements down. But the US can not monitor all the borders from Iran into Iraq. The Kurds opened five on their own 2 mos ago. Good news is we are hearing about it. So it's no lie. Although alittle late to hit US papers... I read these so in turn I shall share if you like. Aloha.

Before you decide that you realy want to know the answer think about these things.

1. The U.S. Armed Osama bin laden , we sent him millions to fight Russia. We even trained him and showed him how to set up his training camps that we later bombed in afghanistan . . In fact within the last 20 years he was a hero to the CIA and a great ally to the U.S.

2. The U.S. Armed the Taliban to fight against Russia aslo. Not only that back when the Taliban ruled Heroin was nearly eradicated from afghanistan, now that we occupy it. It's back to the number one supplier in the world!

3. The U.S sent .Saddam Husien millions of dollars and plenty of war machines to fight Iran in the 80s. Right up untill 1989 Saddam and the U.S. were good buddies as Saddam was fighting a communist country. We knew back then about chemical Ali and all the crimes against humanity that were going on in Iraq but Regan still sent more and more money there.

Now.. What should we do indeed? Maybe say we are sorry for causing all this rukus in the first place?

A wise man once said. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

ahhh, believe it or not the State Dept has signed a deal with Iran stopping the transshipment of weapons accross the border.

according to our own military Iran has followed the agreement and few if any weapons are still coming from Iran

youre a little behind the curve here

the real problem now is illegal weapons coming from Saudi Arabia

Read the article It says:

""There are seven Iranian-made roadside bombs and nine anti-tank mines."

That's 16 pieces.

You could buy these at a flea market in Baghdad.

Since American weapons are routinely used to blow up our own troops, are we supplying weapons to the insurgents?

This is pretty lame evidence don't you think I mean on the face of it?

One would want ot see TRUCKLOADS of stuff before coming to any such conclusion..

its funny.we went to war in iraq because we claimed they had connection to the taliban and the they where training terrorist to attack american troops.we also went their under the pretence that they had wmd's or they were trying to aquire them.we found out they had no ties to alqeida no wmds.but now we have a real threat thats doing what we invaded iraq for.iran made missles have been found near military base,it even had made in iran and the date it was made.iran is clear their trying to aquire a nuclear bomb,so they are helping to kill our troops they openly say they want nuclear power and weapons.thats the whole reason went into iraq in the first place it seems like history is repeating itself, but only this time we face a legit threat
