If your husbands A school is longer than 26 weeks, you will be allowed to move with him.

If it is shorter than 26 weeks, you can move at your own expense and rent off base.

But be warned, in either case, your husband will be restricted to base and have to live in the barracks for atleast the first 30 days of A school.

And being given permission to move in with you, is not automatic after that. It has to have the approval of the commander.

He will base his decision on how well your husband is doing in A School and other military areas.

Generally unless the A School is a long one, it is just not worth it to relocate there, just wait untill he finish's and move with him to his first duty station.

You can always fly or drive to his A school location for a visit, after he is allowed off base.

But even then, he will have a curfew and have to be back on base each night.

You can but it won't be on base and the military won't pay for your move. The only clause is when his A school goes for a longer period of time. Check with his recruiter and he should be able to tell you when you can join him.
Also though think about whether his training is academic, physical, or mental. Sometimes when it's more of a mental and physical thing it's best that you stay with family or where you are at so that your husband can focus on his training and pass it without washing out. When you are with them sometimes they focus more on you, making home to spend time with you every night and making sure you're not bored, and not enough on their training and it causes them to fail which ultimately leaves him in a job he didn't want and a tainted record.

depends. if the A school is less than six months long, no. the Navy will not pay to move you there and you will not be eligible for base housing. he will be required to live in the barracks.

If it is longer than six months long, you may get authorization to move and be authorized to live in Base housing together, but maybe not necessarily right away. he will need to reach the right Phase first. Notice I say MAY.. it is Command discretion at all times whether they allow students to have family members accompany them.

In certain A schools, sailors are able to get base housing. For the most part though, sailors don't get housing until they reach their perm. duty station. For extended A schools like DLI or Nuke school, it is possible.

Sure. But the Navy won't pay for it.
