It could be a terrorist attack or just a bomb explosion. Not WW3 that I hope not, if you know what I mean.

I recently read several news articles that mentioned Saddam's willingness to except exile as opposed to war with the US.... I never heard this brought up prior to now!!

so... what do we all think of this? should we have excepted this and not invaded? Remember this would be only saddam and not his murdering regime. (personaly i dont think war was called for to begin with).

I'll be makin my decision to enlist for the corps at the end of this month. Couple of questions for anyone who has been to Parris Island..
1) Should I go for January or during May. I know about the sand fleas and ticks, but which would be better?
2)I've "experimented" with drugs in the past. Not a hardcore user or anything, and I'm 100% clean now, but i've done my share of them.
3)Probably the most serious...is it really worth it?? I'll come back to college after Parris and MOS, and be in the reserves, but is it really worth it?? Will I be missing out on life for the next 4 years, or can I still enjoy SOME college (understanding i could be deployed)

This is something that i really want to do, and something i know i can do. What do you guys think?

If we lose in Iraq, it is the fault of the American people. In WW II we destroyed the Japanese Empire, the Third Reich, and all their proxys in a global conflict, but now the traitors in the Democrat party say we cannot destroy a ragtag group of bums in some 3rd world backwater state? We could sweep through the entire Middle East and leave a trail of death and destruction in our wake if we had the will to. But Americans are soft and week now: The effeminization of the American male by the lest. It is our own fault we are losing, and the fault of the spineless godless leftists all the way from Pelosi to the scumbags in the Univerities. I just can't fathom how traitorous and cowardly so many Americans have become. I can understand the French being that way - they couldn't win a war if they had to. But how did WE get this way?

I know this quewstion really does not belong in here but here me out and follow me on this.
I got a letter from my oldest boys school yesterday and what I read blow my mind.
Dear parents
You are all aware that Pittsville School District is committed to ensuring the health and saftey of each student and staff member. we have taken many measures over the past couple of years to secure our facility in an attempt to maintain this safety.
On Monday 05OCT07 we will be practicing a lockdown/introder drill at Pittsville Elem. School. During the drill members of the police department will be here and there will be simulated shooting. the police will bring in two actual shooters who will be shooting a powdered chalk ammunition at predetermined adult simulated victims.
then thye go on saying that the teachers are telling the kids not to be scared and don't worry about what is happening.
The city of Pittsville WI is about 800 and its a farm community. I feel that they are taking this to far

My husband is currently in Infantry training and his only means of communication with me by writing letters. I love to receive them and get really excited. (got one today). I just wish he would write more then his "usual one and a half pages. He's a man of few words lol lol. In the coming weeks he will be getting telephone priveleges, I believe on Sundays. They took away his cell phone. My question is when he is given his full time assignment after training will he be allowed to use his cell phone to call me and his parents? I wanted to live with him but that won't be feasible at this time because we will have a newborn baby and it's better to remain at home. My mother in law has offered to allow me to stay at her house and actually I'm doing that now, and really enjoying it there. She lets me use one of her cars to drive to my college classes. At night I sleep in Jamies' room and can cuddle to one of his stuffed animals (I miss him so much!). How about later when deployed?

I am a writer, and working on a charector background.

The man graduated from the Naval Academy, and that makes him a Leutinant right?

Ok what are the steps towards Rear Admirl and then full Admirl?

I have heard of "Officer training School" but is that for people who've also been to Annapolis?

How long does it take from say... high school, and the Academy for someone to raise (normally) all the way to Admirl?

Can anyone list any particular schools, jobs that a officer might have to hold?

Some i listed were:

After Annapolis he became a pilot, then went on to (cant think of the name of the position) the guy who guides planes in to land on a carrier, to CAG, to officer training school, to another tour or two but on another carrier.

but he was a very good learner and leader, and his reputation for brains, gets him lots of offers, and he returns to land to work at the Pentagon, and raises more in ranks and to assistant to the Joint Chiefs.

At 39 he finally gets
