Do they get paid for just being a soldier or do they have jobs? About how much do they make?

Active duty personnel are paid regardless.

Oh wow...sometimes I wonder how people's minds work...

Yes of course soldiers get paid where not at war...how else do you think we pay our bills...and yes we have jobs, some a little more useful than others (when not at war). That is the difference between active duty (full time soldiers) and reserves...the reserve soldiers only get paid a part time army salary, unless they are activated....

Of course they do, they have jobs in the states as well. They work everyday just like most people do and get paid for what they do. There is much much more to the military than you know. They do get paid more while they are actually serving in the war if that is what you may be trying to find out...ie...hazard pay and so on.

For example my hubby was HHC (communications) he worked on base with military componets and he got paid. The rate of pay is based on your rank and so on. They get raises just like civilians.

Yes, the military is a full time occupation. National Guard and
reservist get paid for their monthly drills and annual training.

yes but not as much. While serving in a combat zone a soldier will receive hostile fire pay and be exempt from paying federal taxes.

yes they get paid but if they on war they get paid more my bro in the Airforce n he works and goes to school in the base

Yes, they just don't get the extra pay that they would get while they were at war.

yes but you cant really not call it a pay . there get (SGT will get) about 2000$ a month now feet 2 kids pay for a car and pay all you bills!!!
