I have seen DUI's get approved, but they are going to look at several things. #1 how much other trouble you have been in besides the DUI. #2 How recent was the incident.? #3 your ASVAB scores. The higher you score the better chance you have. it is a process, but if you have the patience it is possible. The Commander of the recruiting squadron will most likely talk to you and determine whether or not you deserve a shot. Good Luck.

the DUI is going to hurt.. a lot. the AF is overmanned, and for every slot they have open, 15 people are trying to get in. Same with Navy and Coast Guard, and the Marines will not look twice at you, they don;t do DUI. Army and National Guard, however, you have a better shot.

If you are currently on probation for the DUI, you won't be able to even talk to a recruiter until that has been completed.

The rules change often. Contact a recruiter and they can give you the latest rules and requirements. Sounds like you may just need a waiver fo the DUI. You may be able to join with some rank if you have college behond you.

Each case is different. You have some college under your belt, so that is a positive. It may help outweigh the fact that you have a DUI. You aren't going to know anything unless you try. Whats the worst that is going to happen? They are going to say, "No", and then you have to join a different branch of service. Oh well...

I have a friend in the air force, if that's all you have on your record you shouldnt have any problem getting in, call your local recruiter and talk to them. Just make sure it's something you really want to do first.

Tell your recruiter _everything_ and take the paperwork along with you if you have it. If not, don 't worry, the recruiter can get it from the courts.
Those guys have a lot of influence and discretionary power but if you omit anything or lie, you can be processed for fraudulent enlistment.

If you keep your nose clean, that past probably won't have an effect.
