The fact the Democrats realized they could get support by saying it was illegal and that we are not throwing bubble gum and candy at the enemy instead of hot lead.
oh wait you want real reasons? oh... ummm... there are none.

The occupation in Iraq can't be illegal. That is a flaw in your question. If you are trying to say, "Name two things that maket he occupation in Iraq morally wrong", then I would say
1. There was a lot of misinformation used to support the invasion of Iraq which we now know was not completely accurate. If this information had never surfaced, then congress would most likely not have agreed on the invasion.
2. I believe that the invasion was originally used as a way for certain people in power to boost their egos. However, since we started the invasion, we must finish it.

First of all we wrongfully invaded a peaceful country with a democratically elected president who loved his people and the people loved him. Wait. That doesn't quite hold true.
We went to war without the endorsement of the UN or congress and we did it alone without the help of other countries. Wait. That's not right either.
I give up. I can't think of a single reason. The President can't send the military off to war (declared or un-declared) without the approval and funding from congress. If they approved it and continue to fund it, wouldn't this make them all criminals if this were indeed an illegal war or occupation? I'm confused here. Help me out on this one Glen.

Since there is no leviathan out there who exercises sovereignty over sovereign states, there is nothing but lies and misconceptions that make the Iraq war illegal. UN stooges will try to say that it violates international law, but there is no international law, who would enforce it? What those who cry illegal will try to say is that by signing the UN Charter, the US agreed to be bound by UN rules. What they leave out is that we also said as long as those rules do not come into conflict with our constitution and our own self interest as a nation.
