I recently heard a resentful news from local army recruiters that I can't join the army because I got a wife attending ROTC and two minor dependents. My family is actually depending on me for everything even since I got laid off from my previous job. I wanted to process it a little bit earlier so it could be succeeded, but that's what the recruiters said to my wife about it. They didn't call me to say directly because I am not a native speaker or wahtever. And ironically I went to goarmy.com and asked someone there and she said " i didn't need a waiver". what the barnickle ...!!! I am a head of family who's obligated to support incomeless family. And I can't serve the country that I belong because I have a wife and 2 kids??? Common...I really need to find what's going on. Does anybody who knows about this will be appreciated to tell me in detail.

I was watching in a documentary that in 1995 the base was abandoned!??Does that mean that we are allowed to go about and explore within?
Is it still "Contaminated"???
Is it still Illegal to transpass there?
Is there still securities and soldiers watching the premises?

When I say 'nation', I mean our identity as people of common values, not our status as a legitimate country. For the purpose of this question, you may imagine that our country is not nearly as unified as it is now.

By 'terrorist tactics' I mean the strategies commonly used by terrorists. I'm not asking whether or not you would become a terrorist in the face of an invasion. Answering either way does not make you more or less patriotic, it just reflects your personal preferences.

This question does not imply anything about my personal position on the War on Terror in Iraq, Afghanistan, or anywhere else in the world. It is simply asking whether or not you think the guerrilla tactics and suicide bombings used by terrorists are the most effective strategy to use against an organized military. Regardless whether you think such tactics are cowardly or cheap, are they the most practical way to go? If not, then what would work better?

So here is the scoop....I am a 13 year old girl and ever since I could remember I have wanted to be in the military. A lot of people think I am just joking around with it.... But I have made up my mind and this is a definate plan for me in the future.
Now I have it narrowed down (most desired to less tastefull)
to The Air Force, Marines, or Navy...But I have heard from an Army Wife that I Know that a woman will not be put in the line of fire and that I would not be able to reach my goal (goal NOT dream) of being a combat pilot or sniper!!! So please someone with knowledge and non-byast views give my answer????

If you are a minor say 17, can your parents sign you up to join the military without your consent? Just basically sign some papers and off you go into the U.S. army? Any articles talking about this would be great too.

My Dad served in the Navy in the late 60's, and was what was called a frogman. He was also stationed at Andros Island until the early 70's. I am searching for any of his buddies who could tell me a little about him. He is not doing well and can no longer communicate. His name is Robert Olsen, also goes by Bob or Robin. How can I find out about his military life? Can any veterans help me out? I would like to honor my father by writing about his remarkable life. Any suggestions?
