As a former Army draftee, who instead joined the Air Force, I can honestly say that the draft should be used only as a last resort in order to get troops. Right now the limits of personnel the military is allowed to have (set by congress) is being met. Because of that I feel pretty certain that there will not be a draft for quite some time.

I don't care what these people say i'm in the military and i see how things are going there could very well be a draft. And as a man or WOMAN you should serve your country because remember it is your country but its your choice to flee just be real and don't comeback when its over.

There WILL NOT be a draft. The All-Volunteer
force is working real good and the Defense Department and the Pentagon Does NOT want a draft. The Democrats are the only ones talking about a draft!!

Did you post this just to p*ss ppl off? If you plan on fleeing in the event of a draft, go ahead and do it now, Love it or Leave it. But no, a draft doesnt seem very likely, but it sounds like you need to put down the bottle and grab the big boy cup, deserters are worthless!! Well, if you dont wanna be shot and your afraid of a draft, just enlist into the reserves and go for something like administrative, or get into an rotc program, but you shouldnt have to worry, thanks to the many brave guys and gals voluntarily enlisting, a draft is not likely at all.

If you aren't willing to fight for this country in which you live, then you need to leave now.You are nothing more than a coward who wants everything from this country and to give nothing in return.Besides,if you dodge the draft and flee to another country. Then you have to stay there for the rest of your life.If you come back even after the war is over they will still arrest you.The only reason the Vietnam draft dodgers were not put in jail was because they were pardoned.

For there to be a draft, congress would have to approve it. And you darn well that congress doesn't have the balls to even consider something which would mean
some of them would not get re elected.
Relax! You'll never see it. HOWEVER, do remember your must register with selective service. Takes about 5 minuteson line and that's the end of it.

You have to register with Selective Service by your 18th birthday. for not doing so will cause you a lot of grief. There is currently no active Draft, and attempts to bring it back would bring back organized protests, which the police will meet with unrestrained violence.

Maybe then those of draft age will understand they've been chosen to sacrifice part of their lives (if not their lives) so that the Bush Crime Family and the Haves and Have Mores he works for can continue to make even more obscene profits, while the very rich sacrifice for the nation by getting even more tax cuts, and Bush will have fresh bodies to throw at the Occupation of Iraq meatgrinder, and would be able to solidify his planned attack or invasion of Iran,,,,

Either way, I think you should flee. You are what most veterans refer to as a shameless coward. For all you know the reason for the draft could be quite honorable, and all you worry about is saving your own sorry butt.

No one can be free from the draft unless there is a valid reason.

If you are afraid of serving your country, what is stopping you from fleeing now?

If you have followed the language of Congressional Democrats, the draft will be reinstated if a Democrat goes into the Oval Office in January, 2009.
