Experts say the war will now cost us "the tax payers" in America 2.4 Trillion dollars. Not to mention the loss of dads, brothers, sisters, moms, aunts, uncles, grandparents, friends I know people whom have lost their family members doing all they could to keep us safe. I also know people whom have lost their homes doing all they could to keep them. Can anyone tell me why our goverment will spend 2.4 trillion dollars in Iraq, but won't give a hard working family $8000.00 so they can keep their home? Does anyone else see a problem with this?

I want to know the current conditions in Iraq. You can not always trust the news. They only tell you what you want to hear.. just like the song by John Meyer. How are the soldiers doing there? Is it still as dangerous? I heard that the death of soldiers has declined tremendously.. If you are currently in the military or knows anyone that is in Iraq right now, please respond.

He's a United States Marine. He says the Marines have a terrible outlook on the good decent Arabs. The Marines always use the F word and puts (Runs down) the Arabs from daylight to dark. He stated to me he wished he "never" joined the Marines.

If my husband has set up a military allotment, how long will it be before the first deposit is made? He and I aren't sure why it hasn't gone through. He set it up sometime after the 8th. of october. does it take a couple weeks like when you first set up direct deposit, or how does that work? Is there anyone I can call to see if it did get set up correctly? Thanks!

My brother is signing up tomorrow. Besides the sign on bonus he told me that his recruiter promised him nice dorm like sleeping quarters, discounts on Nikes, game rooms, a wealth of new friends, and the list goes on. He also made it sound like going over seas is a fun vacation when in reality he will be in a WAR. What do recruiters say to get our young boys and girls to sign up and how do you feel about the tactics they use?

Don't you think we should institute the draft instead?

They didnt give the British any thing during the last war. They made us pay for it and we have only just finished the payment nearly 60 yrs later. Some friends they turned out to be.And will just one of them admit that if Britain had not declared war on Germany in 1939 then they would be speaking German now?
Please dont tell us about the axis and all that, we know. The American people didnt want to join in the war and they wouldnt have done. Never mind Japan Once they saw which way the war was going they new that if they didnt help out that they were in trouble.America was not a superpower in 1940. Britain was the only s/power we controled 25% of the world but even with all our resorses we didnt have enough, we were bled dry. We ask America for help and the only way that they would help us was if we purchased arms and food. They certainly never gave us anything. This is History not Hollywood. The British almost destoyed them selves trying to stop the Germans from overunning the world.

Why do some old British warplanes like the Spitfire have targets on their wings and/or body? Surely the aim is to avoid being shot at? So why give the enemy a target? Is it just a design? is it cockiness? or is there another reason??
