FLIP
"The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him." G.W. Bush, 9/13/01
Washington Post, 9/17/01, UPI: Bush said he wants accused terrorist leader Osama bin Laden "dead or alive.” “I want justice...There's an old poster out West, as I recall, that said, 'Wanted: Dead or Alive,'"- G.W. Bush, 9/17/01, UPI
AP, 12/14/01: President Bush pledged anew Friday that Osama bin Laden will be taken "dead or alive."

FLOP:
Capturing OBL no longer a priority:
G.W. Bush, 3/13/02: I don't know where Bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."

If Bin Laden was caught it would give even more reason for the US to pull out of the Middle East. Bush doesn't want this.
Plus what are you going to do with him if you do catch him? Hang him like Saddam Hussan? That would make Bin Laden a Martyr and cause even more Nut Jobs to blow themselves up and everything around them.

The totaly ironic part of this is thart Geroge Sr. and the CIA gave Bin Laden and Saddam the training and support to rise to power but you don't see any of them on trial..

President Bush intends to capture Bin Laden. However he is not going to divert significant military resources from more productive tasks in order to do so.

Remember that capturing Bin Laden will have no real strategic effect. He is hiding in a cave in one of the most remote places on earth and has no ability to command and control Al Quaeda. In military terms he has been 'neutralized.'

Another thing to remember is that by making no large-scale public effort to capture Bin Laden he diminishes Bin Laden's prestige. This further reduces his influence and ability to attract recruits and funding.

BTW - I find the 'thumbs down' on the recommendations that you get off your butt and do something to help capture him amusing. It demonstrates the fact that these people have never done anything (and never will do anything) but criticize those people who are out doing things.

Look stop asking questions as if Bush were a sane rational human being.

He is an imbecile. He has no idea whatsoever what he's doing about anything.

I think not, he came close a few years ago and more or less gave up the hunt then. He thinks that he is riding his glory horse. He will go down in history BUT not the way he wants.
