If my husband has set up a military allotment, how long will it be before the first deposit is made? He and I aren't sure why it hasn't gone through. He set it up sometime after the 8th. of october. does it take a couple weeks like when you first set up direct deposit, or how does that work? Is there anyone I can call to see if it did get set up correctly? Thanks!

Go there it will give you a place to log in your husband should be able to do this. On there it will show an allotment section, click on it and you will be able to see your allotments that are effective. If you set it up on the 8th it probably won't start until the first.
The website is where your LES is. If you are still not seeing it you can also set up the allotment through there. That way you will be able to make sure it is always there.

There's a cutoff date to start new allotments. He probably just missed the cutoff for the mid-month pay. If your husband has a myPay PIN, he can login to the DFAS website to check on his allotments. You can also start, stop and change most (but not all) allotments on myPay.

You did not specify which provider he's in, so that's kinda stressful to assert. Allotments come out of your pay at the end of month (EOM). They take a while to kick in, a couple of weeks. So I'm guessing that if he submitted it prior to the tenth of the month, it will come out of the EOM (not mid-month) paycheck. Check your October EOM LES.
