Sorry to hear your nephew regrets his decision to join the Marines but we all make wrong decisions at times.
However this situation is not new: when soldiers are away from home, they do things they would never take upon themselves to do in their own countries. Many French soldiers behaved in a shameful way when they were in Algeria and many US soldiers behaved in the same way when they were in England, here in France and (even more shamefully) in Germany during the 1940's. Human nature.

If this truly happened I'm sorry for your Nephew. Many people join a branch of the military with certain expectations usually brought on by to much Hollywood.
I see many young people on YA asking questions in the military section and they don't have clue what is happening in the real world and once you sign a contract with Uncle Sam he expects you to hold up your end of it.

Maybe because those good decent arabs are the ones shooting and killing their buddies. I'd be mad too.
Sure, the Marines are rough around the edges, that's why we have them.
Remember the words of Orwell "The people sleep soundly at night because rough men stand ready to do battle on their behalf"
Those rough men are the United States Marine Corps.
We don't need soft, coddled men in the Marines or the Army.
Here's how I decide about my assessment of the Marines...
If we had an earthquake / terrorist attack that disabled local services, who would you want for your neighbor?
1. A limp wristed liberal f*cktard who voted to ban guns in SF, or
2. A current or former Marine.
If there are a bunch of bastards plotting to kill you and your family, I would hope that I was being protected by ...
1. A cadre of swisher legislators attempting to pass gay marriage laws, and maybe they'll get around to security issues, or
2. The US Marines
If the North Koreans went ape sh*t under that ugly fidget that Madeline Halfbright sucked off, I would send in ...
1. The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgance, or
2. The US Marines
If a bunch of urbanites got the drop on me as I was coming out of a bar to take public transit home, I would hope that my drinking buddy that night was ...
1. A tranny
2. A current or former US Marine
I guess I'm going to have to think about this.

From looking at the questions you've asked since joining this site, I really have my doubts that you have a nephew in the Marines.

OK. Let me get this right. First you were a young adult being pressured by recruiters, then you were a Vietnam veteran, now your nephew is the veteran.
Try to keep your stories straight.

Well he probably has a better perspective on it than you do, seeing as he is in the Marines.

honest man-- you should be proud of him.
The Zionists in control of the US have been conspiring to de-humanize Arabs and non-Israeli middle eastern people for decades through their dumbing down of the education system, their negative depiction of them in mainstream media and often as the evil villains in computer games.
it is mass programming which has bred a type of US youth who has little capacity to question their Zionist masters racist orders.
Your nephew is obviously different - he has an intact moral compass.
it is his type who'll save America's reputation.

I don't think marines were ever known for their good manners, that's not their job. It's unfortunate that they are representing our country at such a critical time and behaving so poorly though. What hope is there for true understanding if all we ever do is put each other down?
