I have heard a lot of mean stories about women in the marines lately, and I was just wondering if the stories of their extreme promiscuity are true. And if so, are they like that before they go in, or do they become that way upon entering the corps? I am in no way trying to be rude or offend anyone.

WASHINGTON (AFP) - Israel carried out an air strike well inside Syria last week, apparently to send Damascus a message not to rearm Hezbollah in Lebanon, a US defense official said Tuesday."It wasn't big. It was a quick strike. They were engaged by the Syrians, they dropped their ordenance and scooted out of there," said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.The official did not know the target of the strike, which was conducted Thursday, but said the US military believed it was to send a message to the Syrians."The Israelis are trying to tell the Syrians: 'Don't support a resurgence of Hezbollah in Lebanon.'"
Syria said its air defences had opened fire on Israeli warplanes flying over the northeast of the country in the early hours of Thursday and warned it was weighing its response to the Israeli "aggression."
But Israeli officials have made no comment on the allegations, as Prime Minister Ehud Olmert "specifically instructed ministers not to talk about the incident

1st of all thats how much the surge was. So all that does is put the troop level back to where it was a few months ago. 2nd of all most of the 30,000 are troops who by the grace of God will have finally ended their 2 and 4 year enlistments and as expected will refuse to continue. Though it wouldnt suprise me if bush forces them to stay past their enlistment as he has to many others so far!

On September 8th, I turned 18. Now, I've got conflicting information. My college suitemate told me that if I don't sign up within a month, I could be jailed. My Dad, on the other hand, said he never signed up for the draft and never got into trouble for it, and other people he knew never signed up for the draft.

I'm a middle-class male college student living in New York state, if that matters.

i just got home from basic training three weeks ago. i did not graduiate, and i do not feel that the army is for me. i only swore in once and i am split-ops; meaning i came home right after basic training for my last year of high school. i do not want a dis-honorable discharge but i want out. what is the best way and who do i talk to to get a general discharge?

It doesn't cost anything! It only takes a second! All you do is select a card (some are really cute), give 'em your hometown, state, and they'll send the card to a soldier in Iraq. I've already done it three times! Although I'm gonna do it more times. Don't forget to remember 9/11.

My husband went to air force basic traing three weeks ago, and three days after he was there he got a migrane cluster headache. Now he is in the medical barracks and waiting for two and a half weeks there. After friday they said that it should take ten days till the paperwork is done and then another ten days to leave. He also got a captain to speed the process up faster, but how long is he going to be there and is there any other way of making it faster? They are just paying him to sit and do nothing! Thanks!
