tell your first sergeant that you are in love with him and you want to have gay anal sex with him. bring some flowers and ky jelly with you. this might actually work unless he takes you up on your offer. but then i think you might have some other problems to deal with, LOL.

1. Punitive discharge (bad conduct discharge or dishonorable discharge). This is due to punishment for doing really really stupid stuff.

2. General discharge (General under Honorable, General, Other than Honorable). This is due to any number of reasons - medical problems, habitual offender non-punitive, etc).

3. Honorable discharge. 180 days of service required. RE1A reenlistment code necessary. The only way to pull this off is to do your time as agreed.

There is no quick fix for what you have signed up for. I know you wish to see another answer, but you need to make the best of the Army. The ONLY thing I could offer you is to see a civilian lawyer that knows military law; he may have a loophole to get you out, but it will cost you some money (that the lawyer would charge for helping you.

Talk to your chain of command. One way to get out if they don't let you willfully would be to not graduate high school. Soldiers need to have a high school diploma/ GED in order to be accepted. Not having that would void your enlistment. Read you enlistment contract. Especially being a split-op I'm sure graduation is a requirement to your enlistment. You should be a man and honor your commitment. But on the other hand, as an NCO I don't want to lead any soldier who doesn't have their heart in what they are doing. They will only be an added risk to me and my men. Now would be a better time to get rid of you then having to pull your weight in combat. If you're lucky you'll get a General discharge or an Uncharacterized one since you haven't completed training.

look i am not going to dis you like others would i am a military wife and my husband is deployed i am very proud of him don't get me wrong there are times when i wish he hadn't signed up but then i start to think about all the stuff we have and all the things we would need if he hadn't went in all i am saying is that you need to think about this very carefully before you do anything at all think about why you wanted to go in first of all and what has really changed about that. then ask yourself will i regret not finishing what i started all those years ago. think about what you can be and do with a little help from them and all the new things you can learn and do and the new places you will see. think about it all then ask your self why can't i do this.

My brother though the Army sucked right after boot camp but did his time and then reuped. He found that over time he grew to love it! He'd be in it still if a 5 ton hadn't flipped over on top of him in Iraq!

Help me out. You want out of the military and you don't want an dishonorable discharge, as if you earned a honorable discharge. Doesn't make sense to me.

Perhaps the army will discharge you for psychological reasons.

2 thumbdowns, love it. That's like signing up for a marathon, dropping out in 5 minutes, and asking the judges to say that you completed the race.

There were a few who didn't pass BT and wanted out. They were cleaning windows while we all loading up in the bus to go home.

I you did not graduate you might be recycled and given another chance. It is better for you to finish your contract since those with a general discharge will have a hard time getting employed like those who have been involuntarily terminated.

Do not make your life more complicated than it is and tough it out, it will be worth the effort.

so your spilt op and graduated from BCT? just not been to AIT yet.. ok tracking.. trust me when I say things will get better in the Army, swearing in once is all I got to do.. I am National Guard.. If you made it through BCT you can and will make it through AIT , AIT is much different from BCT, I didnt have Drill SGTS in my Company in AIT, Though I was at Ft.Lee things were alot different there than when my husband went through in 91..
Just try to hang in there and remeber why you joined... enjoy your last yr of High School and return to training unless your National Guard then you will report to RSP for your monthly Drills until you complete AIT then return to be battle handed off.

I wish you well and things will be ok, I know I didnt answer your question and I am sorry, if I can make it through BCT&AIT at 34 you can too.

THINGS WILL GET BETTER!!!

If you don't graduate from basic, eventually you will be chaptered out. It will not be a dis-honorable discharge. I believe that it is coded as some kind of medical chapter.
Why did you not graduate? PT scores? Failure to qualify with the M16? If its something like this, I don't think you'll need to talk to anyone. They simply can't keep you in if you can't meet the standards. If its a disciplinary issue, it might be different.
I am sorry that the military did not work out for you. Best of luck in all you do from here.

Okay, I think a lot of people here don't understand that the military has standards that must be met. Not all Soldiers meet the standards in BCT, and if the standards are not met they are chaptered out. It is not because you are a coward or lazy (well, it might be, there are some people who purposefully fail in order to get out, but I don't want to assume you are one of those), it is just because the standards are meant to be hard so that not everyone makes it in. It was very hard for me to meet PT standards in Basic. I went in without being very physically fit at all and had a lot of trouble with the pushups. I just barely made it. I understand how someone might not make it. I had a friend in AIT who did not make it because she could not pass the run. It was not because she didn't want to, or because she didn't try. It was simply because the standards were too high for her. The standards are set that high for a reason, and not everyone who signs up is meant to make it. If it were just about signing up, there would be no standards at all.
I don't want to sound like I am calling you weak for not meeting the Army standards, I'm not. There is something else out there for you, I'm sure. There are many other ways besides military service that you can serve your country, and they are just as important. Do not listen to these people who either never went through basic training, or were one of those natural PT studs who don't know what its like to have to struggle to meet those standards. Just because you didn't make it doesn't mean you didn't try just as hard as them. You probably tried harder, since it comes to them so naturally.
That being said, you will probably have to run a few more PT tests before they chapter you. You might have to go back to where ever you did basic and spend some time in an FTU company (I can't remember what FTU stood for, but I did a week in FTU in between inprocessing and BCT to help me pass that first, really easy PT test they give you while in processing). If you don't pass, you will get chaptered. There is no other option for you.

talk to your recruiter about the trainee discharge program. though you have made it through the hardest part, you still might be eligible to get out has a nmfs (not meant for service). if they say you're stuck then suck it up. if you no show on a split yoy'll end up in a place you don't want to be in and in a time of war you could be there for many years
