When do other countries get to defend their land, when Bush attacks them? When is a simple person, like a farmer or student, who was attacked and occupied in the name of PAX America fights back and then be called an insurgent or a terrorist? I dont know about the Rep/Cons, but if my country was attacked and occupied ,I would fight back with everything I had. IED's, sniper, anything. And I would hope that my other border alies would come to help to destroy the occupiers,PERIOD!

I can't get over the feeling, that the reason, we are the only western nation, to allow guns, as described in the constitution, is, because our founders wanted us private citizens to be armed as militia for defense. They didn't wanted a military, because they knew, it would be abused. Care to add your thoughts?

http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/meast/09/11/sunni.partners/index.html

Until recently, Yusufiyah was among the most dangerous places in Iraq.

Located in the so-called "triangle of death," a violent area south of Baghdad, it was the site of frequent clashes between coalition forces and Sunni fighters. In May, two U.S. soldiers went missing in Yusufiyah and were never found, despite a massive search.

But today, Sunni tribal leaders in this town cooperate with U.S. forces in their battle against foreign fighters and al Qaeda in Iraq.

"It's all the roll of the dice. It's people and politics all intertwined down here," said Col. Michael Kershaw, commander of the Second Brigade, 10th Mountain Division.

Kershaw now greets his former enemies with kisses, hears their grievances, spends time in their homes and even shares meals with them. He is surprised at how far relations have progressed.

I am currently in Law School and when i graduate I was looking to do some Government Work. I am looking into the FBI Special Agent Attorney route, but the JAG career track has caught my eye, but the problem is finding any information.

I know Judge Advocates must go through basic training, but what i would like to know is if they must also serve in combat?

What i mean is....

After training do Judge Advocates go right into practicing law? or must they server in Iraq etc?

If anyone knows the answer to the question please reply, also if you have any other information about the JAG career track please post it here...thanks

Working towards joining. I'm 21 and married. No kids.

Just curious, I've been hearing and heard stories from veterans that retirement pay isn't that great and these days don't hardly even cover normal living expenses. I'm sure rank and such would make it all vary but I'm mainly looking for someone who is already retired, weather you have been for a while or just recently. Is the retirement a descent living check or do you have to look forward to getting a civilian job after you retire from service to afford to live?

After basic 20 year service

The Left thinks Iraq is a killing field for Americans. Actually, it is a killing field for our enemies, at a very great but vitally important sacrifice. That reflects a grand strategy, tailored to the peculiar nature of the global terror threat. You don't shoot poisonous fire-ants with a BB gun; you just set an ant trap. Ant colonies are highly "distributed" biological societies, much like the world-wide web. They can't be killed with a BB or a pressure hose; even pouring flaming gasoline on an ant hill won't work. Instead, you destroy ant colonies by attracting hungry ants to a chemical bait, and then kill them all in one small place. Ant traps work. That's the Bush strategy in Iraq. Al Qaeda isn't centralized, with big cities or steel industries like Nazi Germany. So you can't destroy the enemy by hunting them one by one. Rather, you bait a trap -- provoke them to come to you, and make sure they don't get out alive.
Iraq is a trap for Al Qaeda.

There's This U.S. Woman

There's this U.S. woman ,
who thinks of you,
always dreaming,
she has got a clue,
to what a Soldier,
gives for blue,
red and white,
all facts and true.

Would you find her silly,
strange, or funny,
as tears stream down,
her face like honey,
because what you do,
lovingly,
fills her heart,
complacently?

Her love a gift to you,
she gives gladly,
knowing your love,
is given soundly,
to America,
your country,
offering,
your own life!

I don't want to sound a little loco. Maybe a little bit; with some of being impatient mixed in. Ever since last March I was interested in joining the USCG. I wasn't fully committed. Now I am on to my Junior year of college. Hopefully I will be out in three more years, and will be able to join. I am wondering if there is anything I should do to get ready? I was thinking of taking an EMT class, a disaster ready class, CPR class, maybe joing the Auxillary USCG, or working on a boat. I think they would help. The thing is though it's three years away till I am hopefully done with school. I don't even know if I'll make it in the USCG. Thanks for any tid bits.

Please answer objectively, rather than in defense or opposition to the war. Do you think this ad likely had any effect at all on the two sides (the "hang in there" side, or the "withdraw quickly" side)? And if so, which side do you think it most strongly affected, and whether it affected it favorably or adversely... and why?

Why don;t we send our worst prisoners to fight the war instead of our young men ? And if they do a good job they get a smaller sentence?
I just think we are spending to much money on them just to keep them alive and off the streets ,
Make them useful, I know it has been done in the 1940's in Russia , why not now ? Please this is not to be a joke , I feel if we let them sign on by them wanting to go ,, Why not ??
If some one has to die or is in for life any way , and wants a chance to redeem himself , why not ???
And would it work ?

How much of Putins activities are motivated by their desire to make Iran their puppet / cabana boy?

Can you seriously look at the world discontent and see any reason that Iran isnt working hard to keep the USA, China and Russia at odds? How much is going on behind the scenes, besides what is glaringly obvious???

The ONLY one that benefits US and Russia not getting along right now is...surprise!!! IRAN
