I don't want to sound a little loco. Maybe a little bit; with some of being impatient mixed in. Ever since last March I was interested in joining the USCG. I wasn't fully committed. Now I am on to my Junior year of college. Hopefully I will be out in three more years, and will be able to join. I am wondering if there is anything I should do to get ready? I was thinking of taking an EMT class, a disaster ready class, CPR class, maybe joing the Auxillary USCG, or working on a boat. I think they would help. The thing is though it's three years away till I am hopefully done with school. I don't even know if I'll make it in the USCG. Thanks for any tid bits.

Doing any of this will help you whether or not you go in the CG.
CPR? Hey, Iif I have a heart attack, you might save my life.
Auxiliary coast guard. Water safety is a wonderful thing, even if you are just going out in a rowboat. Disaster relief? Suppose therewere a fire. You'd be a valuable help.
Even if you forget about theCG, you will learn goood things that will be a benefit to you and others the rest of your life.
I'd rather hire a guy who has had CPR training than someone who was busted for drugs.
