There's This U.S. Woman

There's this U.S. woman ,
who thinks of you,
always dreaming,
she has got a clue,
to what a Soldier,
gives for blue,
red and white,
all facts and true.

Would you find her silly,
strange, or funny,
as tears stream down,
her face like honey,
because what you do,
lovingly,
fills her heart,
complacently?

Her love a gift to you,
she gives gladly,
knowing your love,
is given soundly,
to America,
your country,
offering,
your own life!

I hope yall like the poem, and understand what I am trying to say to yall. I often feel that nothing I ever say to you is good enough, to offer you the comfort yall deserve. America loves you. God loves you. I love you guys, and gals. Thanks for everything, truly.

I would say yes ( I am a soldier ) because most of us grew up w/someone in our family being in the military. My dad was my hero...I thought he was GI Joe when he put his uniform on. And thanks for the poem, we need all the support we can get at a time when it feels like the country has lost faith in the cause.

1. In an insurgency, belligerent civilians are combatants. Their reconnaissance personnel, attached to armed units and operating under journalistic cover, are combatants. Unmarked vehicles attempting to carry out ambulance operations may be incorrectly identified as combatants ... their fault for not painting a red crescent or diamond on their vehicle. There are conventions for ameliorating civilian suffering during war ... it's just that the Iraqi and foreign terrorists don't want to follow them. 2. People enjoying their job? Shock, horror! All soldiers should be emo all the time, forever regretting every one of their actions and laboring under existential angst, quoting Wilfred Owen and, I don't know, Linkin Park at each other. We should certainly never take any pride in a well-executed operation.

I hope they know how much we do but if they are watching network or most cable news they're probably thinking they will be coming home to an atmosphere that was similar to those vets that came home from Vietnam.
