The Islamic-terrorists who attacked Britain after 9/11 were home grown, ie: born, raised and radicalised in Britain. So tell me how the Iraq War has made us safer? Because, from what I can see we are less safe now than before we invaded Iraq. The war was based on circumspect and doctored intelligence. Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction, did not have the capabilities to seriously challenge its neighbours and had no involvement in 9/11 and Al Qaeda, although ironically it does have a link to Al Qaeda now. There are a lot of countries where regime change would be desirable and in the long-term interests of all the people who live there however, I don't see our forces amassing on Syria's, North Korea's, Iran's, Zimbabwe's or even China's borders. Why? Because those countries don't sit on huge reserves of oil, the profits of which just so happened to help George W. Bush buy the Presidency twice.

Britain had no business in Iraq however, so that the lives lost are not wasted and for the pride of our military, I think we should stay to finish the mission. It isn't the fault of the soldiers out there that our government broke international law and decided to act all vigilante on the neighbourhood punk. However, I do think Tony Blair, George W. Bush, Joh Howard and other leaders from the "coalition of the willing" should be tried for War Crimes.

incredibly, there's a tentative date of 2010. however, it incredibly is provided that Iraq turns into sturdy. i grew to become into in Iraq for 365 days, from March 2004 to March 2005. The few Iraqi's I talked to did not like the U. S. troops being there, yet observed it as necessary to maintain some resemblance of order. For the main area, the Iraqi's did not hate individuals. many of the insurgents we had confrontations with have been from different international places, which includes Lebanon and Syria. There are some Iraqi's that are in contact on the insurgency, yet not in numbers that we are listening to approximately right here interior the u . s .. i grew to become into against the preliminary invasion, yet i think of that now that we are there, shall we help the Iraqi's get stability, the two militarily and regionally.

Sorry to be blunt but the question has been answered a million times.

There is a published timetable for troops to be withdrawn so its going to happen anyway. Its all about timing so that a security vaccum is not left behind.

Its also now pointless debating where of not we should have gone there in the first place because its already happened, it cannot be undone so lets concentrate on the future.

America got itself in between a 700 year old Islamic civil war for the sake of oil, using terrorism as its justification. There are many 'wars' being fought in Iraq. Not just with American soldiers. If that's not obvious enough consider the fact that there are more contractors there than troops! I smell a fraud. Do you?

Iraq is not the central front in the war on terrorism. Religious fanaticism built up on years of hatred is the problem we face here. That's not going to be solved by military force alone. Unless America plans to kill over a billion people. Then we would create for ourselves more problems.

If we stay in Iraq we will lose more soldiers and more money that could be used for other things. Like rebuilding this country. If we leave they will fight it out amongst themselves as they are already. We just won’t be in the middle like a ref taking blows between two boxers. And don't forget terror cells live in Western countries and can still attack us at home while we are fighting abroad. An example is the train station bombings in England.

In the words of al Zawahiri; If we continue to stay, we will slowly bleed to death...if we leave we will lose everything. We have to face this reality and figure out a way to leave with our dignity intact and stop playing games with the lives of our soldiers, their families and innocent Iraqis.

Keeping some allies on the ground over there and allowing them their own 'states' per religious and ethnic group would be our best bet so far.

God bless

Well, if a couple of cartographers in London hadn't have drawn the lines they did back in the early 20th century we might not be having THIS problem.

Yes, this war was as much Britains as it was ours. Saddam was evil and a threat to his region and as such a threat to the world. Likewise terrorists are a worldwide threat and we sure don't want to give them an oil rich country to establish a base of operations in.

You've been attacked twice. What do you think?
Terrorists are terrorists, regardless of where they are. Would you rather kill them in Baghdad or London. That is the only way to stop them. You can't reason with someone that wants all non-Muslims dead.
