You seem to think that there are no Deomocrats in the military and that simply isn't true. My husband, several of our friends and the commander at our last base were Democrats. The truth is, once you enlist you can have your political views but they must be put aside to serve together. You can not participate in political rallies, volunteer for election campaigns. Technically, you are not even supposed to have bumper stickers supporting one group or political party over another. Even Democrats recognize the President as Commander in Chief and serve at his pleasure. I am curious..how long did you serve your country on active duty??
The truth is very few Americans...regardless of party affiliation..have first hand knowledge of the military. Only 10 percent of the entire eliglable population in the US has ever served or has known anyone who has on a personal level. Most politicians serving in our government have never served, a number that will continue to drop, and very few have served in combat at this point. The generation where serving your country was an important part of becoming a leader is slowly slipping away. Bush never really served. His daughters never considered it. Neither did Clinton or his daughter. Point is, the people in combat are more than likely from middle to lower class backgrounds, where serving thier country if often seen as a way to serve their families as well. Being a sailor or soldier or airman or marine has little to do with political affiliation. Surviving in battle has even less to do with it. At this point, plopping huge groups of either party into a combat situation would mean one thing..high body counts. Stop arguing over party lines and argue over human lines...no matter the reason, no matter who suggests it or who finally comes up with the plan....it is time for us to come home. We would like our husbands, wives, fathers, mothers, sisters and brothers back please.

The Dems believe in guns....they just not believe in YOU having guns. As for the other thing, I believe France gave an answer to that question 4 yrs. ago.
The Democratic slogan this year is,"We are behind our troops, waaaay behind!"

Lets not forget Bush was a draft dodger too. . .oh wait, he showed up for a few air national guard meetings. I think each party is made up of many different individuals and each would have many casualties and many survivors. The implication of your question is that democrats are somehow less able to survive combat than republicans yet how many in the Bush administration served any combat? Regardless of party, I hope that our next president has served a tour in combat.

James! Give me a break! Of course they couldn't last! They want to cut and run now, and they've never even been in a war zone! It's all so pretty here, in America for the Dems, they think they're going to win the next election with fairy-tales, and lies! I haven't seen a Liberal yet, who thinks more of a Soldier than their own political aims. If you find one, let me know. My heart will sing then!

The entire Democratic party? That would be allot of people. Are they well armed and armored? Do they have any mission beyond survival? Did Dick Cheney provide a good example of Republican marksmanship when he shot his friend in the face? Are you a troll, or just a moron?

Longer than Republicans that send our kids to fight illegal wars based on false premises. Republicans didn't prepare right and our troops suffered the consequences.
