I just need some quick thoughts as to what I should right and what I should leave out.

Go to the VA hospital and talk to some wounded soldiers. They will appreciate the company and it will give them a lift by letting them know that people are thinking about them.

You could speak to the fact that America is by far the most peaceful continent in the world and that, that, was accomplished through the blood of those veterans. Veterans from the wars in Peru, Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico the US, etc.

Why don't you ask the people that the soldiers helped or at least write about what they had to say in other stories. There is a different between being told good things were done and knowing good things were done.

How about you write about what you have done or are doing to honor veterans? There are some ideas above to get you started if you have not honored veterans before.
