They just want to rattle your cage a bit and try to see if the Cold War is worth "playing" again.

The Russian Airforce are flying 'bombers' towards NATO and UK airspace.
Don't worry about this. It just keeps the RAF and everyone else in NATO on their toes.
For the present both the Royal Air Force and the Norwegian Royal Air Force [NRAF] have the sitution under control. This is not a shooting war but more an exercise in staying on top and alert 24/7.

Meanwhile back in the Kremlin, Red Square - the Tsar of all the Ruskies, Razz Putin - is busy sharpening up his rusting sabre and doing the rattle dance.
Pay no attention. The Russians are just pissed off because the Brits refuse to back down over the issue of their various murder plots carried out here in UK [London].
Us Brits want justice for the victims of Russian assassinations. Etc.

And, The People's Republic of China dispatches a couple of their nuclear powered attack submarines to the waters off of Taiwan, not entering their waters, but just letting them know that they are out there, right off their coastline.
So the Russian Federation send a few fighters close to the UK, whats the deal?
It is just a big game of cat and mouse or as my father use to call it: A game of chess that the superpowers enjoy playing with each other.
If it was going to turn into a war between the UK and Russia, do you think the Russians would send their fighters as a warning before they attacked? Forewarned is forearmed, my friend!
Its just saber rattling, thats all, nothing to get your panties in a twist over.
The USA conducts war games close to the Russian border, and no one gets upset about it, why do you?
Thank you,

You really do not have a clue, do you?
The former U.S.S.R and now Russia along with the UK and the USA have been doing this for a very, very, very long time.
It is simply a matter of us watching them watching us watching them etc, etc, etc.
It also happens above and below the waves, only you don`t get to read about it in the media.
It`s nothing new and will continue long after we have both shuffled our mortal coil.
:-)
P.S. they were not fighters, but you as a civilian wouldn`t know that.

They are showing the world that despite the "superiority" of Communism and the "first-rate leadership" which has emerged in Russian since the Third Revolution of 1991, the Russian Air Force is still using propeller-driven bombers! I think it's a plea for Lockheed to sell them some jet-driven bombers to replace those Bear bombers they are stuck with.

What would you think if I told you that America is doing the same thing to Russia from bases in Alaska? So what do you think the Russians are going to do in retaliation.

The Russians don`t have Fighters with that kind of range.
They HAVE been testing our readiness with their Bombers for many years and we always see them off with OUR Quick Response Fighters.

first, they were bombers, not fighters, and second, russia has the same rights as anyone to 'show off' their defences.
plus, they were flying in international airspace, and our fighters only went out to make sure they didnt enter British airspace.
basically, theyve done nothing wrong.
plus russia dont like us at the moment.
