I'm an US Army veteran who served in Afghanistan in 2005, and I listened to General Petraeus's report yesterday, and I believe that he was telling the truth (for the most part). However, there's this other part of me that keeps telling me that the White House influenced his report. The Bush Administration has allocated a lot of money to the US Military. So, I'm pretty sure that the White House had some influence on how the General wrote his report.

One of the Army Values is Integrity. However, when I was in the service, I've seen that value violated quite a few times. So, do you think General Petraeus's report was telling the "whole truth" or only a "part-truth"?

*BTW, in my unit, General Petraeus's haircut would've been considered a violation of Army regulations.

Such as the native populations of South East Asian countries like Burma (now Mynamar), Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia (which didn't exist then), Indonesia (also didn't really exist)?

Is anyone aware that in my country, over 2 million are known to have died from starvation, forced work and general savagery of the Japanese- maybe as high as 5 million?

Is it because we don't bang on about it all the time like the Jews?

Can we get some memorials too then?

Hypothetically speaking were there any reasons, even remote ones, that it would have made sense to have invaded Syria?

Alot of question why Islam is so tainted with violence and terror? Because for Muslims, their faith is mixed with politics, muslim clerics runs the government, Shariah law are intended for governance, state funds support Mosque activities and religion is funded by government..Can you comment on this?

How long was a British troop's deployment? Back when the colonies that became the US were still part of Britain, were British troops considered "stationed" in the colonies or "deployed" there? If they were deployed, how long was a deployment?

My 10 year old is fascinated with the armed forces, and says when he gets older he would like to join. He's brought me postcards from inside magazines, from the Marines and the Army that you fill out to get information on joining, and asks if he can send them in. He want's to visit the websites, etc...What would your reaction be to this?

Ok its probably a little early for me to be thinking about this but I can't help it! My son is 5 now and was born missing the entire right side of his diphram. He has a patch but I was wondering if his birth defects could stop him from joining the military in the future if he wanted too. He also has 1 operating kidney. Like I said a bit early but I want too know because he wants to follow in his Uncles' foot steps already! God Bless Our Troops!

If we pull out, The terrorists will cut off our foreign oil supply. Gas prices will soar. And has anyone thought about the soldiers. I mean, ask then what they think? Because the people at home are not the ones fighting in a war.
