DIabetics would be exempt from the draft if it was initiated. Diabetics can serve, but they need a waiver. It is not a great idea for an insulin dependent diabetic to join or serve in the Army as a supply of insulin and refrigeration would not be available to deployed service members. Even those service members on oral medication cannot depend on a supply for refill in all situations, and there is the risk that they could be captured, it is doubtful most of the countries we currently combat are signatories of or would follow the Geneva Convention Rules.

no, but neither do non-diabetics, so it is not really an issue, as there is no draft....
so your question should be: Would diabetics get drafted in America?
That would depend, and I can't answer as it does not currently exist. Would it be possible? Yes, if they decided to draft diabetics. As it is a hypothetical question, all things are possible.

There are no major wars going on so nobody gets drafted. However, depending on how bad the need and the controllability of the diabetes, that may not be an eliminating factor. It is, however, an eliminating factor for current initial military service but will not get you kicked out if it occurs later and is controllable.

There is no way of knowing how the draft would be re-instated. Women have never been drafted but with their insistence on equal rights if it were to be reinstated I'm sure woman would be reinstated. It is possible that the same thing would apply to any group claiming equal rights. I doubt they would be found fit to serve in the combat arms but there are hundreds of jobs in the forces.

No. You are not allowed in the military if you are a diabetic, draft or no draft.

No. You have to go through a hella lot of red tape just for the chance to maybe get in the army if you're a diabetic.
