If we pull out, The terrorists will cut off our foreign oil supply. Gas prices will soar. And has anyone thought about the soldiers. I mean, ask then what they think? Because the people at home are not the ones fighting in a war.

In my opinion we need to pull out soon, within the next couple of years for sure. I was all about the war the first few years, but now it seems the political differences of the sunnis, shites, and kurds maybe too large an obstacle for there to be peace. Who really gives a crap about oil anyways moron, when we are losing thousands of young men and women over there not to mention the tens of thousands injured. Get your priorities straight, if you ever spent a day over there you wouldn't give to shits about oil.

Your foreign oil supply is not controlled by "terrorists" - its mainly controlled by saudi princes.

(although if you use sensible defintion of terrorist as "one who terrorises" there's not all that much difference between USAF, saudi police & jihadists - except the usaf kills more women & kids)

And its about time US gas prices moved into the real world so maybe you'd waste a bit less of the stuff & stop screwing the planet quite so fast.

With its consistently aggressive & stupid foreign policies the US deserves all the trouble it gets - maybe if the population was a little more aware of the rest of the world then the politicians would stop making quite such major blunders.

A good start would be to support foreign democracies instead of military dictators - but democracies have the annoying habit of "speaking truth to power" - whereas dictators go along with uncle sam as long as the weapons keep coming.

Have you ever think that these young men and women want to be there making a effort to save the world our country? I don't think oil is the reason why they are risking their life day in and day out.. nobody get forced to join the military some of these young warriors do it because it was simply their destiny they are our future they hold something in their heart that no one but them understand and if they don't come back they will always be remember as heroes... Yeah proud mother of a US MARINE. God bless our young men and women fighting for our country.

America is a country governed by civilians. The military is a tool of the republic. Since when do we allow the military to dictate America's foreign policy?

It's a shame that there are these loons on the left who do realize we need to stay the course, but they are more concerned with their politics. They're putting their country's safety in jeopardy so they can gain total power, Whitehouse, Senate and Congress.

I really don't think oil will be effected as we do not buy from Iraq.
I totally agree and the re-enlistments say it all. First we have a responsibility to Iraq and we have to fight these idiots somewhere. No one wants to fight them here if we can avoid it.

Doesn't seem like you've asked the soldiers what they think.

We can make oil here, we just don't.

And if you're so concerned, why aren't you over there fighting instead of being in the comfort of your home in front of your computer playing on yahoo message boards???

But I thought that Iraq had nothing to do with oil?
I thought we got the majority of our oil from domestic and friendly sources like Canada and Saudi Arabia?

I thought the war for oil was a liberal conspiracy?

I realize that. The only opinion I care about on the matter is that of the law-abiding Iraqi citizens, and they seem to want us to help.
