Navy, 1969 - 1972.
I never supported Bush or Bush's war in Iraq.
The justification for the invasion and occupation never made sense to me. We really need to hold our leadership accountable for getting us mired down into a pointless and costly committment that seems to serve no legitimate purpose.
That's my take.

I am in full support of AMERICA! Iraq and the battle for it's political independence is an American interest. Try looking at the benefits of what we're trying to do there instead of the negatives you see every single day on the headlines.

Oil, it is not only an American Interest, it's a world interest! To have a peacfull Ally that has control over reserves (Iraq as a freinds is our goal) American and the world has more access to it, letting all the fancy liberals pay cheaper prices to fill up the tanks of your Escalades. Along with this, an Ally in the middle of the middle east, can help possibly (however I'm still doubtfull) bring more peace to this war torn region.

Terrorism. After this war, Iraq, as a nation, is one less rich nation in the middle east who will have a leadership who is against America and the Western cultures. Osama is one person, who has nations against him. Sadaam was in control of a nation who was against us. Who was the bigger threat? Both together, would have been devastating. Taking Sadaam off the list of Osama's go to guys to get WMDs or anything was a plus in the war on terror.

I am in no position what so ever to say anything negative about the war like I know what I'm talking about. Above are my thoughts based on what I know about the region, what I've seen, and the globalization of American interests. I said in a naswer before, America is not a self sufficient country! America is not just a part of the North American Continent anymore. Our iinfluence and need extends past our borders and overseas.

I'd rather things be solved diplomatically. But when push comes to shove, wars and battles are a nessesary evil. Do I agree with the war? yeah, done correctly with the cooperation of the Iraqi government, it has some good things to come out of it. Do I suport our president? Yes. Why? because he's the freaking president. He's made some poor decisions, but who hasn't he's human. Our next president, he'll be called out on his poor decisions too. I happens to all of them.

That about sums it up. I think the Majority of Soldiers support the war. (At least the ones I know, but like minded people are more likely to be friends)

The things I don't like about Bush are Non war related.

I think Bush is too liberal on social issues.

Since I have not been there I can not say if we all support the war. I am sure that those of us who are serving right now would be the people I would like to hear from the most. As for me I do support Bush and what he is trying to do in the middle east. I would like to be able to fight this war with aggression that the Democratic party in general has tried to stop. I am really tired of us loosing because we have to fight fair.

Hopefully you genuinely want to hear my thoughts...

Pros and Cons; you are taught to weigh these as a child. Do this when it comes to the war. There have been hundreds of thousands of Americans effected by this war personally. Think of the families of the dead AND wounded. Tough deal I would say. Now include the Iraqis. Their only crime was being under a regime that was virtually intolerable (not the reason we went to war BTW) however, there are plenty of governments like that. Burma, North Korea, Iran, Sudan etc... are all countries with awful leadership.

This war was a very poor decision especially when we were having social & economical issues at home. The issues were small and large. My opinion don't start something abroad whenyour home is not perfect. Are you goin to critique your neighbors home when your roof is leaking? No. Are you going to tear his deck apart and rebuild it at a canter while your house's foundation is cracking? Hopefully you see where I am going. Well thats how I feel without any real politics involved.

Answer to the war now... We cant leave within the next three months but we can pull out 75% within six. Come on we are Americans we have been faced with seeming unbareable problems only to revel in them and blow by all!

Sry just saw this "as far as i'm conserned even if it was a war for oil if it benefits the american people i'm all for it.thats just one more natural resource that belongs to us now.as i see that most deffinitely benefits the US " - SGT IRISH

Sure ok maybe that is why they call us imperialists... This si the prob you are a person they are people as well... Even if they hate you... F'n Army.... Sry Go Navy

I support neither the war or the last four years of the presidency, I believe a lot of time, good soldiers, and money was wasted that could have been used a lot more effectively

However, I do support the innocent people of Iraq (they exist) who are caught in the crossfire and if we leave there will be a hellfire resulting in their genocide. I support economic stability in the middle-east, if we loose Iraq we loose the middle-east to turmoil. I support Saddam Hussein being taken out of power, George W Bush took care of that tyrant the way his father should have.

I'm a USMC Vet and I don't care one way or the other. There will always be a war somewhere.

What the military needs is some serious pay raises and better barracks especially the Corps. They need a bigger budget.

I'm not a fellow vet, but I totally agree. Iraq needs the forces to help the innocent in that country, at least until their government can better control the situation. Too many people are so quick to judge and feel sorry for US and coallition forces, when at the end of the day, that's their job and they have been trained for it, not a day goes by where I'm so proud of the job they are all doing over there, and around the rest of the world, cheers.

I have served in Iraq and as a result, I base my opinion on what I saw - not on what the news media claims.

I support what we are doing there.

Anybody who claims to 'support the troops' but repeats enemy propaganda about 'illegal war,' 'torture,' etc is a liar.
