O.K. Straight poop. Paragraph 3-10 of the Medical Standards of Fitness (AR 40-501) does not mean you are not fit for retention with a hearing deficit. Even one with the use of a hearing aid. However, a Medical Board will be done on you. The key to remaining on active duty with your H-3 profile will be how well you do on the Speech Recognition in Noise Test (SPRINT). It will also determine what MOS you can remain in. I've included the link to that reg below. Chapter 3 deals with retention standards.
I'm a retired Navy Medical Department officer with 12 years of experience in disability matters, including other branches of the service. Hope this helps.

Any permanent profile with a 3 or a 4 is cause for referral to an MMRB which may then refer you to MEB/PEB. Furthermore, your chain of command or the MTF may refer you to MEB/PEB if they believe you are medically disqualified under AR 40-501. The real question is if the condition makes you unfit to reasonably perform the duties of your grade and MOS. If you are unfit, you will be separated from the service. If you are rated at 0%, 10%, or 20% you will get severance pay which is 2 times base pay times years in service. If you get 30% or higher (very rare for hearing loss) you will get that percentage of your base monthly pay and be retired.
