I suggest reading 'Prisoner of the Turnip Heads."
"The old order was cut down by mindless violence and sadistic cruelty; there followed three and a half years of starvation, disease, and death. The population fell from 1.7 million to some 650,000, the Chinese exodus to the mainland suiting the Japanese who took other and more direct measures to reduce unwanted numbers."

I have just finished a great book on this very subject.
Its called "The Battle For Hong Kong 1941 - 1945" by Oliver Lindsay, with the memories of John R Harris.
Very good and detailed and with good photos.
Also helps to describe the character of the ex pats very well and the bravery of a British Army who always knew that they would not be relieved and were merely delaying the Japanese from being able to send forces elsewhere.
As with all books about the wartime period it again underlines the inhumanity and cruelty of the Japanese armed forces at all levels and units.

Tibet is referred to as an element of China, and is totally decrease than chinese language administration. pass forward google key-word "Qing Dynasty map". tell me why grew to become into Tibet an element of China till now "China invaded it in Nineteen Fifties"? Taiwan, is decrease than chinese language administration, yet no longer the mainland chinese language. Hong Kong is decrease than chinese language administration. China has no purpose to regulate something that does no longer belong to China at the same time with Koreans and Japan. Mongolia, all of us desires to be the president as a replace of a governor. Doubt they desire to rejoin except they get into intense financial device hassle. They won independence from China in early 1900s specially through fact the Russians needed a buff zone and that they've been those in the back of it. China won't be in a position to truly take it back devoid of the nodding of Russians.
