I just wanted to say, Thank you for all that you have done for us and our country. So many people want to talk the talk. But you guys put it all out there on the line. When I see you in the street and I smile and nod, know that you are appeciated. And I am praying for you, your family and your fellow servicemen.
My question to you is, "Do you feel as if you have Rockstar like status now?" Is there a renewed appreciation for what you guys do?

Are these people really that stupid? It reminds me of the video during the invasion with the Iraqi general or what ever he was denying that the US was in Bagdad. When there were tanks all over the place. Just because we do not want to admit it is true does not make it not true.

Okay, so here it is...my husband is in the military. When he is out of uniform (or in for that matter), and someone asks what he does for a living, he will tell them. Why do people at that point think it is okay to give their opinion (usually people with a neg. opinion) about the military, or the war? When you find out someone is a lawyer (or some other disliked professioin), you don't automatically make rude comments to them. Why do people think it is okay to do that to our servicemen? Nobody asked what their opinion was! I TRULY don't understand peoples' need to voice their unwanted, unasked opinions to our soldiers. It's like they aren't capable of showing respect to that person, simply because they don't agree with the war, or do not understand the military itself. I am sure that there isn't any good answer to this, but I pose the question anyways... Why? I can think of no other profession that deserves the respect that this one does, even if you don't agree w/ the war.

I read a letter to the editor in a local newspaper with someone saying they were a former army lieutenant commander.

I knew right away Lieutenant Commander is a Navy rank, but I've also heard 'commander' used in the abstract sense. Is there any possibility an Army person would use that title, or was the person full of it (that's my prediction).

It wasn't a particularly controversial letter, but I think the person may have been trying to bolster their credibility.

Some people claim the citizens of Iraq would be better off if Saddam Hussein had not been captured, convicted, and executed. The reason Saddam was captured was because he was guilty of thousands of murders. He was charged, tried, and convicted for under 200 muders, but the actual death count was in the thousands.

Here is a page charting some of the killings at the hands of Saddam Hussein by use of chemical weapons:

http://usinfo.state.gov/products/pubs/iraq/attacks.htm

Let us step back for a moment and ask ourselves what we would prefer if our president had killed thousands of our citizens with chemical weapons. Would we want him to simply step down and receive pardons for the murders? Would we want him to face trial, conviction, and punishment? Or would we be better off ignoring these crimes simply to keep our president in power?

Now back to Iraq. What about Saddam? Should he have been left alone or faced the same justice all murderers should face?

I was in shock and disbelief to see war protestors standing outside of Fort Knox holding signs that said SHAME SHAME SHAME on you!! What the h-ll!!! Especially since every single civilian surrounding that base either works there or knows someone that does... The soldiers support their economy!! (let alone this country)

If you have the money and skills to own and fly a WWII plane, which one would it be and why?

For me it is a toss up between the P-38 Lightening and the British Mosquito fighter/bomber. Love a fast mulit-engine with awsome firepower and multi-use.

I had asthma at a younger age and was on medication, inhaler, etc. Now at 21 I havent used any of those in maybe 5+ years. However, I do still get shortness of breath after short runs. I'm guessing my chances are slim to none or I may not be able to make it through any basic training courses?

If the War on Terror is the new perpetual war, why is a conventional front necessary? Like Iraq. And in case that burns out, Iran.
