It depends on the AIT. I know that the longer the AIT is, the more priveledges the soldiers will have. I went to a 4-month AIT in Ft. Huachuca, AZ, and we were allowed to have all our electronics as soon as we got there. It just depends on where he is.
Go in with the mindset that it's BCT all over again, and hopefully you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Good luck!

If his AIT is anything like mine in Missouri it will be the same as it was in Basic. One call a week.

Depends on the unit he is doing his AIT with, it varies from unit to unit. I chose to not call home during my training due to the fact I didn't want to know what was going on at home.
Usually they are limited to 30 minute phone calls during the weekends.

When I was at AIT I could make calls whenever I had time and was near a payphone, but that was specific to my training unit. They've changed a lot very recently.

distinctive AIT instruments have distinctive regulations and "privileges" i'm an AIT instructor at feet leonard timber Mo. and our scholars are allowed to have cellular telephone's on own time. own time is regularly from 1900-2100 hrs (7pm-10pm) in that element they could bathe get waiting for the subsequent day, sparkling the Barracks, oh and be taught if there is time. dissimilar the time the pay telephones on the barracks are complete and you may wait on them, i understand The Medic at feet. sam have it plenty much less complicated then our scholars because of the fact I rather have talked to former instructors from feet Sam. after the 1st 2 weeks the get greater privileges. That relies upon on them in spite of the undeniable fact that. in basic terms loosen up he will call whilst he can. and the Drills do no longer care who they call mom, dad, spouse, and lady pal are an identical to them a decision is a decision. yet they do strongly inspire them to call mom.

It might work the same way. He will be able to call when ever he gets free time. Just remember there are several other guys and women trying to make a phone call also and the lines will get long and they might not be able to call as often as you would like.
His first concern will be his training. And the long hours he will be working.
