They're a bunch if idiots with too much time on their hands who do not understand how the real world works.
The best thing you can do is organize some friends to go there with American Flags and big "THANK YOU" signs to rally across the street.

It is impossible to give a defininte answer to this question, but I'll share my opinion. There are those out there who cannot differentiate between the war and the troops fighting the war. For them, the line between the two has become irrevocably blurred and becuase of this they find it easy to protest the troops and what they have done.
This is a shame, as the troops are only doing what they believe in and what they feel is right. Sadly enough, these same protesters forget their right to protest and say these things is protected by the very people they mock.
It's a sad state of affairs, but there are so many people out there who do support the troops that it makes it easier to deal with such occurances.
Just my thoughts.

The phrase "Support our troops" doesn't exactly mean what it says.
The problem with that phrase is it carries a heavy load of baggage which does not have very much at all to do with the individual soldier.
Specifically, it amounts to a call for blanket approval of the war and actions of our government.
That is because when you give moral support to the soldier, when you do not stand in the streets protesting the war, you silently ratify the actions of our government.
Hence, "Support our troops". It is a very effective tool.
In effect, the message is; if you protest the war, you are against the soldier.
Although that is a lie, keeping silent because you want to "Support our troops", is exactly the desired result. No protest, everyone is happy.
There should be a new phrase, "Support our troops by ending the war".

It's politically correct. The ACLU has given them the right to be morons because the ACLU has confused action for "free speech."
But, as a retired Vietnam veteran, I feel that most of those who profess to "support the troops," are deluding themselves, or they're just going through the motions to soothe their own conscience, or to impress others.
How can one say in one breath, "I hate the war. It's immoral. It's illegal. But I support you"? How can one say, "I think your mission sucks. But I support you"? How can one say, "The US stinks. The administration stinks. You Commander in Chief stinks. But I support you"? How can one say, "You are murdering innocent women and children. But I support you"? How can one say, "I want you out of there. I don't care if you don't come home victorious. You deserve to lose. But I support you"? How can one say, "I'd leave the country before I or my children would join the military. But I support you"? How can one say, "I cannot support what you're doing. I cannot support your command structure. I cannot support your mission. But I support you"? How an any thinking person say those things and really think the troops are dumb enough to believe it?
By and large, the troops believe in what they are doing. As one put it, "My orders didn't say, 'secure oil rights for the US.' They didn't say, 'get the guy who tried to get my daddy.' My orders said 'Iraqi Freedom.'"
Hardly any of the troops serving in Iraq were around when there was a draft. Most of them volunteered. They were not ordered to join. They are doing a job.. a job they chose to do. You cannot possibly separate them from the job they are doing.
Those people who supposedly support the troops... let them put their support into action. They complain that the poor troops have to keep going back. Let them join the military. Let them write the history rather than just reading and complaining about it. They complain about the equipment issued to the soldiers, let them sell that gas-guzzling SUV and use the money to purchase a few sets of body armor. Let them do without so the troops won't have to.
I'm sorry, but you can't separate the troops from the military, its mission, and the execution of the mission. Attempting to do so is naive at best.

it's not that people aren't supporting the troops, i have the utmost respect for people in the military. It's people arentagreeing with the administration. People have different views on why the US went to war and some of those views are not in agreement with the governments view. IMHO, they should be protesting at the white house, its not the soldiers' fault

there are a bunch of "intellectuals" who think that they can piss off mommy and daddy by protesting the war. since none of them have the guts to actually go over there and see what's really going on, they assume that our soldiers=the war. they don't realize that they should take it up with their politicians, not the soldiers.
these are the same people that complain to the guy pumping the gas b/c the prices are out of control. they're just doing their job. take your beef up with the people in Washington and let these guy/gals do their jobs.
some people just need to get the hell out of the U.S.

The only people who support our troops' well being are their families. Screw the economy. Screw the government. Screw the media. Screw the greedy, selfish, vain and egotistical fool pool public of America.
If people truly cared about the troops, they would be not be over there for Israeli interests.
If people truly cared about the troops, upon return, they would be taken care of for the remainder of their lives.
If people truly cared about the troops, it would show with their actions towards the troops instead of by proclamations and B$ banners & placards.

The people that don't support our troops are the illegal aliens in this country, and every Arab that's in this country on a "School Visa". None of which are attending school like they're supposed to.

And where did you see this? I would say that other than a small handful of radicals, we do support our troops. Supporting the war is a different question.
