I did that..well 8 yrs active duty USMC to Army Reserve...5 yrs civilian in between
It feels a bit weird, but the corps values are still with me and that can't change that. I'll bleed green FOREVER
It is a big comfort that there are several other former marines around me, so when the adjustment gets bit difficult they are there for support and help my transition.

Absolutely not, two of my instructors at Jump school were prior service Marine corp. They set an outstanding example for everyone and were only given crap by one Force Recon Marine who challenged them to a push up contest. The force Recon guy was tough, but not that tough. He lost, and I mean big. Those two men set the standard that others tried to meet. And both of those men always spoke highly of the USMC, and the Army.
In short, the only Ex-marines are those with a dishonorable discharge, if a former Marine wants to join the Army, that's great, bring all your experience and use it to improve your unit.

No, as a matter of fact my National Guard Unit has quite a few ex-marines. Just remember "Once a Marine, Always a Marine." Semper Fi.

yes, it will make you less of a marine.
notice everyone who thought it was ok said that the marines in the army elevated their units......? what their trying to say, and everyone knows this, is if you compare unit against equivilant unit the marines are better.
army infantry=support personal in the corps
army rangers=regular marine corps infantry
green beret=marine recon/scout sniper
delta force=force recon

Maybe in the eyes of some. I personally think someone has to do what they think is the best move for them regardless of what people will say. I knew a few that did this because they were offered a better MOS for going to the Army so I don't consider that a bad move.

Why would you ever dream of leaving the Corps?
I'm surprised anyone would leave Corps.
I'm surprised people aren't actually paying the US Government to be afforded the opportunity to serve in the Corps?
