#1. The aircraft carrier was the decisive weapon in the Pacific. The B-52 did not enter service until the 1950s.
#2. Denmark fell the quickest of any nation during the war. German formation infiltrated Denmark in April of 1940 and quickly ceased the government buildings in Copenhagen within a day.

Last one first, first one last. I have no idea (without looking it up) which country collapsed within 24 hours.
The aircraft carrier was the key to winning the Pacific war. With the battle ships either dead or licking some serious wounds, only the aircraft carriers were left to take the fight to the enemy. The battle of the Pacific was the birth of the aircraft carrier as a capital ship, and the threat and respect that goes along with it. The aircraft carrier and the Doolittle raids (B-24s or B-25s) combined to hit mainland Japan....stabbing deep at their morale if nothing else. They were 'touchable'. US morale went off the scale!!
There were battles that the aircraft carrier played a vital role, like Midway, Coral Sea, and many others. Also, the carrier battles marked the first time in history that two opposing forces were out of sight of each other.
The B-17 got it's claim to fame way more so in the European theater than in the Pacific theater. It played a role in the Pacific, but the role they played on the opposite side of the world greatly overshadows that of the Pacific.
The Tommy gun, or Thompson Machine Gun wasn't used that much in the Pacific theater. The Army or Marines or even both switched to different weapons in the course of the war. Basically, if I recall correctly, they used the wrong .45 ammo. It didn't have the penetrating power that it could have had if better .45 ammo was utilized. Either the Army or the Marines...maybe both switched to the B.A.R., which was MUCH more effective than the Tommy Gun using the wrong ammo. The Tommy Gun got its greatest fame during the prohibition days in Chicago. Which criminals of the era were associated with the Tommy Gun?
The B-52 wasn't even a thought in the designer's mind yet. I think the B-52 came around in the 1950s....between 54-57.
I hope this helps you!
A good question for you.....
If you are interested in carriers, is there such a thing as a submersible aircraft carrier. If so, which country owned it?
18 years in Naval Aviation.

The answer to A is easy the aircraft carrier has the most impact on the pacific war. With the US battleships laying destroyed in pearl harbor none of the US aircraft carriers got hit they pretty much won the war in the pacific. If you can research the history on the battle of Midway it should shed some light into how indisposable the aircraft carriers were. The country that collapsed in 24hrs was Chekloslovokia (not sure on the spelling) the Nazi's didnt even fire a shot to take it.
On a side note the people that answered B-52 really need to go back to school and check their history the plane wasnt even built until 1958.

For question 1 Historically the aircraft carriers where the most important component of the island hopping campaign which brought the war to Japans door. The B52 didn't exist yet. The B17 didn't have the range to strike japan until late in the war except for the Doolittle raid and by that time the B24 was also available. The Tommy gun wasn't that big a player in the land battles most soldiers carrier the M1 or used stationary 50 cal machine guns.
Second Denmark folded like a lawn chair. they where infiltrated and the game was over almost before it began.

the carrier without it would have been very difficult to regain the islands on the japs. The carriers where the prime target off the attack at Pearl harbor luckily there weren't in the harbor.
The b 17 was replaced by the super fortress the B 29 who played a greater role in the bombing of japan.
The b52 didn't exist then that's the bomber that got famous in Vietnam. If you just think about it in 1945 the jet engine technology was only at his starting point and in the B52 there are 8 massive P&W turbofans so then you choud know it this itsn't possible in 1945
To jamustrip Belgium did hold it very long out if you take the size of our army in account. It was 18 day's before we surrender to the Germans. Take as measurement Holland a country bigger then Belgium and a army larger and better equipment that that of Belgium they did hold only 5 days out against the aggressor

Aircraft Carrier.
Many of the historians will argue over many aspects of WW2 BUT the majority agree that if Japan had taken out the carriers in the opening phases (aka Pearl Harbour) then the out come would have been very different.
Also it was the carriers who allowed the first raid on Japan (Doolittle Raid) after Pearl Harbour which improved American Morale.
The battle for the Coral sea was won due to the fighters launched from Aircraft Carriers.
Czechoslovakia surrendered in a day (see source) on the 15th March 1939

Question 1: That would be A. There were no B-52's in WWII, they didn't enter service until the late 50's.
Question 2: I believe it was Luxembourg that quickly surrenderd. France held out for about a month and Denmark, the Netherlands and Belgium lasted a few days.

The B17 was indispensable from the outset, they ran more raids on germany then any other bomber, and with the great payload, and the sze of the flights, german factories had no chance of being around for long. for the priice B17's were the perfect thing tthe Allies needed
I believe it was Poland that fell in 24 hours, after the massive blitzkrieg from Germany
