I have many family members that served in the first Gulf war and they look at me and say this should not be your war. Now here I am looking down at my 2 kids not wanting to leave my generations unfinished business to them. Yes i would be very proud of them if they enlisted into the military as my parents were of me, but i believe that they are better than that. I believe that they are too good to wear combat boots i did it so they would not have to.

Indian troops marched towards Kashmir amidst the tensions resulting from the indecision of the Maharajah. Additionally, as experts on Kashmir such as Victoria Schoffield and Alistair Lamb note, Indian postal services began listing Kashmir as an Indian territory, much to the alarm of Pakistan. The successful tribal invasion ultimately forced the Maharajah to accede with India, whether willingly or unwillingly is still unclear, though Pakistan contends that since the treaty was signed under duress and after the Maharaja had fled Kashmir, he thus forfeit any right to determine Kashmir's future. After hearing about Indian soldiers pouring into Kashmir, Mohammad Ali Jinnah (the founding father of Pakistan) ordered the head of the Pakistani Army, who was a British officer, to stop the takeover of Kashmir by sending his troops to the area in support of tribals who had already invaded Kashmir on behalf of Muslims in Punch District that were rebelling against the Maharaja's taxation.

Not telling you how to think, just predicting the responses.

I say take the skull of the enemy and mount it on the lead Humvee, Semper Fi!!!

It is a bolt action with the bolt handle being straight. It has a elevated rear site and a bayonet can be attached. It also has a fixed magazine and the barrel is 31 inches long. The number 679 is on the bolt, reciever, and barrel. But, there is the number 2980 belove the rear site and I thought that number was the serial number. The stock is in pretty good condition. Helpful?

I was discharged from the Navy about 6 years ago. Unfortunately I received a general discharge (under honorable conditions) with an RE-4 reentry code. The narrative reason for separation was misconduct with an HKQ code. After 6 yrs now, I have graduated from college and I am interested in going back to the service. I wanted to join the army national guard and go to officer candidate school. And so, I was wondering if I can do this even though I wasn't honorably discharged from the Navy. I live in San Antonio, TX and any answers from recruiters or any other person with knowledge about this will be greatly appreciated.

The Iraq War, sometimes called the Second or Third Gulf War or in the U.S., Operation Iraqi Freedom, is an ongoing conflict which began with the United States-led 20 March 2003 invasion of Iraq.
The main rationale for the Iraq War offered by U.S. President George W. Bush, British Prime Minister Tony Blair, and their domestic and foreign supporters was that Iraq was developing weapons of mass destruction. These weapons, it was argued, posed a threat to the United States, its allies and interests. In the 2003 State of the Union Address, Bush claimed that the U.S. could not wait until the threat from Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein became imminent. After the invasion, however, no evidence was found of such weapons. To support the war, some U.S. officials cited claims of a connection between Saddam Hussein and al-Qaeda. No substantial evidence of any such connection has been found.

All charges were dropped Thursday against Marine Lance Cpl. Justin L. Sharratt, who had been accused of killing three Iraqi brothers in response to a roadside bomb attack in Haditha in 2005. "The evidence does not support a referral to a court-martial," Lt. Gen. James Mattis wrote in his written decision. Under military law, a commanding general has total jurisdiction over a case.

Earlier today a guy (screen name: giantcock5003), answered boy who is 14 who wants to join the Marines when he is of age tellin him to "wait on tables" rather than join. I emailed him and told him as an ex-Marine I am offended by his comment.

HIS REPLY: And where do you parrallel the skills of shooting at people while firing mortars, .155 howitzers, calling in JDAMS or puff the magic dragon, LRRP's, UDT, etc. in the civilian world? There isn't a big call for it. But the world does need people to bring them dinner.

MY REPLY: I parrallel those skills at work everyday THATS where. I use those skills each and everyday and it's my Marine Corps background that makes me what I am today and enable's me to excel at what I do. My leadership, my ability to work as a team, my ability to "adapt and overcome" adversity were all taught to me in the Corps. These are skill sets that cannot and WILL NOT be taught serving a plate of cold food or re-filling people drinks!
