all these people saying you dont rate one or get one unless you are on "active" or drilling reservist are wrong. i know because i have a id in my wallet as i am typing this. you are actually required to report to your local reserve center and let them know your address for the IRR. while there they will take your photo and issue you an ID even if you have started to grow that goatee youve been dreaming about for four years.

I dont believe that you qualify as a military member being inactive reserve based on your 4 year commitment. You can try the veterans administration and see if they have any ideas, however the military ID is for retired and active members. I have never saw a inactive reserve have a military ID. I was inactive , and so was my brother after our terms were over.

Are there any reserve centers in your area? I'm an Inactive Marine too and I got one from a local reserve center.

Inactive reserve means they CAN call you back for service within an 8 year time period. It in no way means you are still an active member of the USMC. You do not get an ID card unless you re-enlist as an active member or you are a veteran of foreign war.

Military identification cards are issued to active duty members, active reserve members (or ready reserve) and retired military personnel only. If you are called back to active duty they will issue you a new identification card or if you wish to join the active reserves they will issue you one but as an inactive reserve you do not rate one and you should have one issued.

Contract the Marine Reserve Center that is closest to you. They should be able to get you an ID to replace the lost one.

Did you report the loss of your ID card?

The only way that you can get a military ID is if you
enlist back into Active Duty USMC or if you are retired from the US Military!! Check with a USMC
Recruiter and they will enlighten you on the US Military Regulations!!

Only Ready Reservists are issued an ID card. If you become affiiliated with a unit within the 4th MEF, you'll get one.

You are not entitled to an ID card. You must be an active reservist (drilling).
