They are very good. You can live on base in family housing pay nothing for rent (if married), get a basic allowance for substance (food), get basic allowance for quarters (up keep of your house). There is alot of support on base for families, wives clubs, support groups, its a very tight community.

You probably won't be able to do anything until after basic training and his technical school afterwards. He will then be given his first duty assignment. If I am reading you correct, I assume you are current expecting.
I don't know what your fianances are, but it would be most beneficial to you and the baby to get married so you can become his dependant and get access to the medical and base facilities. If the baby gets ill you don't want to get creamed with brutal neonatal costs we it would be zero as a dependant.
If you are married, the you can go with him to most assigments. The exceptions are war zones (obviously) and a thing they used to call "Independant Duty" assigments, where there are no places for dependants. Korea was such a place, as was some places in Turkey. It's been a while for me but that is the general idea.
Good luck to your fellow. My years in the Air Force were among the most happy and best times of my life.

If you are his legal spouse you are entitled to all the benefits the military provides to family members. You can join him at any Air Force base as long as you can afford to live there and the base is not in a combat zone or a remote site (no family allowed).
Benefits include housing allowance and health benefits for you and your child.
You can still live with him if you are not married but you won't get any benefits.
I forgot..you can't be with him when he is in basic training

Housing depends on the base.
You NEED to be married to obtain 'on base' housing and/or the 'family allotment', although the child would be eligible for support either way if paternity admitted or proven.
MOST bases have family housing once he completes 'basic training'.
Certain areas, such as 'combat' bases overseas either do not allow or discourage families accompanying personnel for safety reasons.
Note: BELOW the rate of E-5, the money and accomodations aren't all that much!!

if you are not married more than likely not. if hes going in as enlisted he most likely will be required to live on base in the dorms if hes single. the only way around that is if he has custody of your child then he would get dependent rate BAH and be able to live off base, or get a house on base (in which case you still couldnt live there only the child) however if the two of you get married you get all his benefits and get to live with him and the military pays to move you to where he is. the only time you cant live with him is when hes in basic, tech school (if its less than 26 weeks) remote tours (like korea) or if hes deployed to a combat zone

Most of the time yes.
At first he will be in his basic training. You cannot be with him then. After his initial training, he will go to his first assignment. If the assignment is an accompanied tour, then you will live together. Usually in on-post housing on base once you are married.
If he deploys, then you will be apart of course.
If he has to go to some places that are listed as un-accompanied, then you cannot go. These assignments are in remote locations and last for 12 months.

if you are not married.. then no.
if you are married, he will have to get a waiver for having you( the AF is the only branch that requires a credit check for all new enlistees as well as a financial determination). you would not be allowed to live with him during Basic Training or school, or at any duty station that is remote or Unaccompanied.

MARRY FIRST SO THERE IS NOT ALOT OF PAPER WORK EVEN BACK PAPER WORK. IF LETS JUST SAY HE IS STATIONED IN HICKAM AIR FORCE BASE HAWAII THEN YES AS LONG AS YOU ARE MARRIED THEN YOU AND BABY CAN GO TO WITH THE MILITARY PAYING FOR IT. IF HE GETS STATION IN LETS SAY KOREA OR THAILAND THEN NO YOU WILL HAVE TO STAY IN THE CONUS OR STAY HERE AT HOME. IT JUST DEPENDS IF HE IS STATIONED OR IF HE IS DEPLOYING TO A O-CONUS DUTY STATION OR NOT

You need to get married. A whole host of benefits will come your way. Housing, schools, medical. Being single will basically bring you nothing.
