I am a Marine Corps and Operation Iraqi Freedom Veteran. I was injured in OIF and was received a %70 disability rating. I still have a scar and was wondering if the veterans affairs will do a cosmetic surgery seeing as how it was from injuries sustained during a combat operation. Though I appreciate all answers please only answer if you have a certain answer and no "I guesses" or "I think", thanks!

I am giving serious thought towards enlisting in the coast guard. My teeth aren't that good. I know they provide dental care; would they start dental care before or after basic training/more advanced training?

I've wanted to be in the military since I was in high school. Its taken me 7 yrs to join but Im finally going in (Army) and feel confident about the decision I've made. I know deep in my heart that this is my calling in life and am happy. Im always getting down because some people just believe I've given my life away since Im joining during war right now! Why are people so ignorant when they do not understand (I guess I don't expect them to) why I want to do this? You can't knock someone for wanting to live their dreams!! Why are people so stupid?!!

I was raised with the idea that dropping the "bomb" was what caused Japan to surrender. I have recently heard that a greater motivator may have been Russia's declaration of war against Japan as that was feared more than future bombings. Does anyone have any facts concerning this? Not really interested in speculation or opinions.

India is one of the states that have been most affected by Islamic terrorism, and Iran is one of the biggest state sponsorers of Islamic terrorism. India is the world's largest democracy and Iran is the world's biggest dictatorship. India wants to preserve the globalised order which is conducive to its economic growth, especially by increasing trade with states such as USA, Israel and the EU. Whereas Iran wants to disrupt the entire global political economy and bring havoc. Moreover it seeks the destruction of those very same states that are salient to India's rising superpower status (USA in terms of Indian economy, Israel in terms of Indian military etc). So why on earth does India maintain such cordial relations with a state, which represents values that are antithetical to its own.

My husband is supposed to ETS November 11th this year. We both decided about a year ago that we just want a simple civilian life to raise a family in. No deployments, feild excersizes, or other stressful interruptions. I personally just can't handle it when he's gone anymore. We're expecting our first child in september. Now he's been told that there will be a deployment next february and that stop loss will catch him november 2nd. 9 days before he gets out. He had been told that as long as he was on terminal leave before then, stop loss wouldn't effect him. Now they are saying that it will. Does anybody know about this? I would like to know what I need to plan for, moving away into civilian life, or preparing for a deployment and making preparations to raise my new baby alone. Please don't give me any crap about how I should have expected the deployments and that I don't support our military. My hubby served his time, now we just want a peaceful, deployment free existance.
