Difference… is like beauty, it's one's own opinion. What I might consider a step in the right direction, you could very well see it as a backwards step. And it's entirely possible that we'd both be wrong. The key, as I see it, is accepting accountability and seeing to it that those who are elected to office are held accountable. Sounds easy, but it's not because we're party members first and Americans second. We create the world in which we live; if that world becomes unfit for human life, it is because we tire of our responsibility.

In my opinion we won't know if we've made any difference in Iraq till the newly elected iraqi government can stand on their own two feet and protect themselves on their own. The elected officials still have yet to prove they are doing any kind of work to advance their diplomatic situation in and out of the country. But this process takes time and results my remain to be seen for years. But we all have to remember you don't gain your freedom over night, look how long it took us to gain ours from england. Are we making a difference some would say no and some would say yes. I'm married to a soldier currently serving over there, he told me when he went over in 2003 he believed in his mission there, but this time he doesnt feel the same way. President Bush set out certain missions for our military to accomplish, making sure the government got elected, a constitution signed, a trained military all of which they have. It seems like every day there is something else our military has to do when it shouldnt be our military that has to do these things it should be the Iraqi government that should be providing for their people.

The troops in Iraq are making a difference every day. However - it is up to Congress and the American people to make sure that what they have done is not flushed down the toilet in the name of partisan politics.

Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs mentioned Friday the crusade used to be to start with given clearance to land at Ramstein Air Base, however had been advised via the Pentagon Wednesday that the commute “could be considered as a crusade quit.” “Senator Obama made the resolution that we weren't going to have wounded guys and females end up worried in a crusade occasion or what could be perceived as a crusade occasion.” -Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs

We are making a difference there sure, but is it worth it ? There are many terrible things happening in the world in other places ( Darfur , the congo, Kosovo) but we arent trying to make a difference in those places. America cant save the world alone, we need help and we arent getting it from our so called "allies".

You're definitely making a difference simply by your presence in the world because it is a wonderful thing to know that the world has such fine people as our soldiers.
That ALONE is enough.

Those people have been fighting for thousands of years, we aren't doing any good over there, we are just loosing our own people for a worthless cause.
