Here is a video of a weapon that I think many years from now after much technological advancement will eventually be made. The only question is do you think we should really make something like this and take the human factor out of the decision-making? Should soldiers be completely replaced by these things if they ever are developed? Why?

Is it time to reinstitute the draft? That option has a certain appeal as the Army fell short of its active-duty recruiting goal for June by about 15%. It is the second consecutive month the service's enlistment effort has slipped as public discontent grows over the war in Iraq.

Bringing back mandatory service has been the refrain of many who want to put the brakes on the Iraq war; if every young man is suddenly a potential grunt on his way to Baghdad, the thinking goes, the war would end rather quickly. It's also an argument made by those who are uneasy that the burden of this war is being unfairly shouldered by the 1.4-million-strong U.S. military and no one else. But a new report from the Congressional Budget Office this week makes clear that resuming the draft would be no panacea. The question is "will the war supporters and Bush supporters send their children off to war"?

Why can a Conservative cry, yet still support our troops, and also do their best to help them to laugh?
Why do Liberals talk dirt about our country, and the soldier's who are giving them that right?

How quickly & efficiently will Norad respond to it?
How much time will pass between when its spotted on radar and when the counter missiles intercept it?
Also, are they prepared to defend against unknown technologies like extremely fast missiles?

I ask this for many reasons. Mainly the FOX News/ CNN. One definately swings majorly to the left and the other majorly to the right. As a soldier, civilian, and student I feel that I do not listen to any of them. I may watch my local news, BBC is very non liberal and to get my news sources I usually go to the News section on Google because they can offer mainy views about the war, politics, and etc. Would you say most military people have conservative, liberal, or pretty much non-biased views? I personally have the agenda to just say "roger" to politics because I can stay in my own lane.

The majority of our military do not like, or agree with protester's, and Liberals who claim they are against the war in Iraq. They are doing their job, and want Liberals to let them to that, and they want to win.
Why do Liberals think they are saving our soldier's lives, when they're not? They are only bringing down our men, and women's spirit's to win, like they did in Vietnam.
There are hundreds of testamonials by American soldier's all over this forum alone, telling Liberals to knock it off, and let them do their job!
Why do Liberals not listen to the very people they claim to want to save?
Liberals hinder our soldier's, do not help them.

i mean going back to iraq.....they kill themselves or hire a hitman to shot them so they cannot return.

there was a soldier here at one rochester ny colleges saying they would rather kill themselves then go back.

then yesterday inside editon had a soldier hire a hitman to shot him in the leg so he would not have to go back.

THINK IF YOU DI NOT WANT TO SERVE IN THE WAR WHY DID YOU SIGN UP FOR THE MILITARY IN THE FIRST PLACE?

A couple of days ago i was at a family wedding,when i decided tell my family of my intention to join the british army(the first one of my family....so i thought)
Well my grandfather got very angry at this,saying how much he hated the fact that someone could stoop so low.....i was shocked at this out cry....but what came after really shocked me...that my grandmother reminded him he had also fought for the british,but then when he was a P.O.W changed sides and joined the Tiger legion(free india legion).....i was gobbed smacked to all this to think that he actually fought for the facists....I know i should forgive this as its part of history...but he went on to say how he`d like it better for me to go into the American army(he`d want to if he could)
Is he still that right-wing after all these years to consider joining the facist americans and their cause to oppress the world its worse than hitler......how can i face him over this

In the paper today the RAF have had to intercept three Russian bomber incursions into UK airspace,Does this mean the cold war is starting again and should the UKs armed forces be built up to post war levels again.
I believe that in the cold war era the Russians were testing our defences,Should we ever trust the Russians again.
