We treat them one hell of a lot better than they treat their captives. You need to get some proper info to learn the reality of the World and how it and Humanity works.

There is a BIG difference between the abuse that occured at Abu Graib (spelling?) and intelligence gathering. A few criminals versus sanctioned agents. However, people like to lump it all together and say that ALL Americans like to torture people and that we torture and abuse ALL prisoners. Ah, what can I say - some people are SIMPLE.
What happened in that prison was WRONG. Some other acts committed by our military over there were wrong, too. However, these acts are the EXCEPTION, not the rule. 99.5% of our military is over there only to do good. I know for a FACT that all the military is trained again and again in the law of war, treatment of prisoners, etc, etc.
However, the media likes to dwell only on the negative things. You never see pictures of soldiers handing out candy to kids or poor Iraqis receiving medical attention. You don't hear ANYTHING about any progress made in Iraq. There HAS to be some progress made, even if the bad outweighs the good, it is a statistical impossibility that NOTHING good has been accomplished in Iraq, yet you never hear any of it.
Finally, you have a world full of disillusioned people who believe in world peace. They are sheep and can't understand that some people will not be easily led to slaughter. Some will not stand idly by while this wave of Islamic radicalism sweeps the world. Many are not willing to fight for anything anymore. They are not even willing to fight for something that our ancesters fought tooth and nail to achieve.
There is no way to condone what happened in that prison. It was WRONG. I think that everyone can agree on that. Those involved were punished. The U.S. polices our own. I cannot comprehend seeing a U.S. soldier on trial by a world court. That would not stand.

Well Maya, say what you will about a few army enlisted prison guards who were not being properly supervised, and went off on tangents. That conduct would have not been deemed acceptable by higher authority.
Now compare this activity to the slimy muslim leader in Iraq (Zarqawi) who decapitated people, while still awake, with a rusty, dull knife. Are you on the same page as the rest of society, or do you always go around with blinders on, asking foolish questions ?

Where's your proof on this matter? Have you reported it to the military authorities as potential violations of Army regulations? Or did you just learn about it from some web site of dubious provenance? If you are mentioning the incident which occurred at the prison outside Baghdad, please note that no one in the media or politics (except for Colin Powell) has ever pronounced the name of that prison (Abu Grahib) correctly. And that includes that female Brigadier General who commanded the place and alleges she is fluent in Arabic. There are three syllables in the name. Not two!

WHAT? Where do you get your facts? Tell you what, you list your sources, and I'll take you more seriously - that is, as long as your sources are serious.
Edit: as of this edit I have two negative ratings, and all I did was to ask the asker for some source of his/her "facts." The US never made prisoners have sex. As for torture, ask a Vietnam POW what torture is. This is typical of an audience that lets their emotion rule their answers and leaves reason aside.

No,they didn't force them to have sex.
In every war in history, prisoners have been abused by the other side.
At least we don't cut prisoner's heads off like the terrorists in Iraq.

Hey grumpyoldfart, iraq didn't do 9/11.
Torture rarely works, as a man in pain or panicing will say anything he thinks you want to hear.
More importantly, it diminishes the torturer. You think he can just turn that off we he or she gets back? The human mind doesn't work that way.

these problems need to be dealt with in a world court that is not owned and operated by the united states.
it is not until america comes clean that it can change and regain respect in the eyes of its people and the world.
it is sick sick sick - brought about buy some extremely disturbed minds - it is a shame that americans are viewed in this light by the world and themselves.
they will answer to god for what they have done - for what they are doing.
