Are you one of those who support the troops that are fighting for the freedom in Iraq? If you don't, at least explain your reason.

I am in college right now. An want to finish college to go to the OCS. I am going on to my junior year. With 42 semester hours at the end of this semester if all my courses go right. I sort of hit a wall though. I have no more funding for college. Is there any scholarships I can recieve from the military? I was also interested in doing split-time reserve next year. Any info would be great. Thanks. Probably should talk to my recruiter though.

an old, retried, american man and his wife travel to france for what could be their last vacation together. at customs the man is looking for his passport. the customs agent is becoming impatient. he said, " you should know to have your passport ready". the man was quiet and continued to look for his passport. annoyed now, the agent said " why don't you americans have it together? you should know to have your passport ready. haven't you ever been to france before? at this the man replied " the last time i was here i landed on the beaches of normandy and there was not a frenchmen is site to ask me for my passport". great story,true....what ya think?

Just a quick question how an m16 or m4 works.
OK so i know how where the mag release is and how to cock it where safty/fire mode is but what is that round button on the right hand side above the grip? People seem to smack it after they have ****** it. What does it do? Any pictures on internal workings? All M16 models seem to have it.
I dont own a M16 by the way or have i ever fired one, i'm just curious about firearms and how they work. Thanks.

What do you think what happens if Chaves decides to start a war against the Netherlands to take over the dutch parts of the carrebian.

Use this link for some warpower information about both. (really do Venezuela is stronger dan you should ever imagin)(they invested over 4 billion dolars)

What kind of scenario might be there if NATO an cuba stay out of the conflict. (so US also stays out.)
What kind of tactical sets would we see.

I need your well considerated opinion about it.

I'm curious about it.

(taking over is not the problem at all even luxembourg would be able to do that, but what happens in holland tries to recapture it)(there is only 1 batallion marines overthere, 4 F-16's and a few smal ships with only a low calliber machine gun, only capable for shooting birds)

I know people say they support the troops and all, but dont the american public know that when they keep the media attention on getting us out then it only screws up progress? i see the good we are doing over here, the media lies!! i see it firsthand and i have to say: we are tough!! we can handle ourselves. there hasnt been a draft in many years. it is our choice to be in the military. let us do our job, our time, and come back home when its over. it does no good to talk about pulling out. we are winning, give us time to finish the job. thanks

I asked a question a few days earlier about what someone could do after joining the Marines as a Machine Gunner (0351), and two people responded w/ "Mercenary".

How would one go about becoming a "Mercenary" after service? When they say Mercenary do they really mean the people that are hired to fight in wars?

I joined the Army Guard, quickly after joining i was sent away from home for the fist time in my life for classes. I was put up to tasks i've never had to do. Alot of the time i kept to myself and just thought about going home. I've made it past my classes and i wounder if im strong enough to pass basic the way i am. I came home with a new out look on life, I didn't feel the same way towards everything. Inside i felt like nothing. its really hard to say for anyone that hasn't been there. they break you down and some how build you up again. yet i was forgotten in the "build up" part of that week. And havnt felt much like enjoy anything. I just wait to be tolled i'll die and carry out my orders to the fullest. could i find my smile again, can someone help "build" me up again?

I realise that mercenaries are, for the most part, highly trained ex-military personnel and it is commonly held that they fight and kill indiscriminately for (expectedly) large sums of money.

Logic would then dictate (although I freely admit I am a civilian with no experience of such matters) that any self-styled mercenary is, in fact, a criminal.

So if I was to join up with the Army (I am British), do my time, and, upon retirement, declare myself a 'mercenary', does that instantly make me a criminal and subect to the law? Do American/ European mercenaries tend to flee their country of origin to live beyond the reach of western justice?

PS, the above scenario is merely an illustration, I have no intention of becoming a mercenary!

Thanks for serious, sensible answers
