an old, retried, american man and his wife travel to france for what could be their last vacation together. at customs the man is looking for his passport. the customs agent is becoming impatient. he said, " you should know to have your passport ready". the man was quiet and continued to look for his passport. annoyed now, the agent said " why don't you americans have it together? you should know to have your passport ready. haven't you ever been to france before? at this the man replied " the last time i was here i landed on the beaches of normandy and there was not a frenchmen is site to ask me for my passport". great story,true....what ya think?

for sight, i think you missed the point, we have come to the aide of the french people in the past with great loss of lives for us. the french sometimes seem to forget that.

I am not sure if it is a true story, but I would like to hear the story about what the French soldier on his way out of Vietnam in 1956 said to the American soldiers who were on their way in... to what would become a 16-year old quagmire, that cost the U.S. 58,000 lives, and ended in a poltical defeat.

Nice comeback, but obviously not a true story as customs officials do not ask for passports - immigrations officers do. And an immigrations officer would never say to anybody, "why don't you have it together?". He would sit there stone-faced and perhaps roll his eyes.
Oh, yes, and the word is "sight", not "site".

The people of Bastonge Belgium remember. So not all Europeans hate us.
If any of you are ever in Europe you should go there and spend your money. Then go to the memorial, but brush up on your French or Flemish, it is really hard to find anyone who speaks English there.
